Yes remember now .. wonder how and why

I took it to be during the 7 minutes, when he left the house again, after his shower.
The reporting says with what looked like a black tee shirt - his clothing was black when he went out originally at 1.54am, so very possibly the item that looked like a black tee could have been black trousers rolled up ? either that, or he had the trousers inside the tee, to keep blood off his hands.
As to why - removing evidence.

Yes he could have wrapped his joggers in the t shirt ..I dont get why he would put them on the beach ..but I remember someone saying maybe he threw them into the water and they washed back up to shore

I wonder if the asked his mom what clothes were left on his floor

Where was the hoody found?

And I would have thought the pathologist would discuss DNA if Alesha was raped, or would that be a different specialist?

Does the fact she was raped not then rule out TM being responsible?

It would be a different specialist who will talk about dna, but the pathologist report cant rule out TM, : “These injuries are indicative of severe, forceful inflicted penetration, either penal, by digital or by an object.”

The position she was found in which I do not want to emphasise and injuries to various private parts certainly doesn't sound like a boy wanting to experiment it sounds violent and pornographic

No, because a woman can commit rape too. An object could have been used.

I've drafted a timeline -

10 pm : Alesha in living room area of house - put to bed by RM with dvd
unspecified time : TM goes to bathroom, then goes to Alesha room, closes door fully
12 midnight or just after : grandmother hears Alesha call out for Peppa Pig
12.22 am : Suspect and mother have argument at suspect's home
12.30 am : Suspect's friends leave his house, suspect's 14 yr old sister accompanies them
01.39 am Suspect texts or Facebook call to RM
01.47 am Suspect / or his sister / or suspect using sisters Facebook account - calls TM
01.54 am Suspect leaves his home, wearing jog pants, trainers , hoodie. Walks in direction of Rothesay and goes past Alesha grandparents home
03.35 am Suspect returns to his home - from a different direction - accesses his house by jumping over back wall. Does not have hoodie with him.
03.35 to 03.44 m. bathroom light is switched on during this time, presume suspect is having shower
03.45 am suspect leaves his home, wearing only shorts , no shoes, carrying what appears to be a black tee shirt
03.52 am suspect returns home
03.58 am suspect leaves home, fully clothed, running, with a torch
04.07 am suspect returns home, now walking

Tortoise did a post, a ways back now, saying that it was high tide at 3am - so he must have thrown the clothes into the water, thinking they would wash away

Cctv at 3.44 on same morning, 2 July 2018, shows light come on in bathroom. At 3.45am person, who mother agrees is the accused, is seen leaving only wearing shorts
He was only in the bathroom for 1 minute and his mother said he left his clothes on the bathroom floor.
Also if it wasn't clearly a black t-shirt he was carrying, they prosecution would likely be trying to highlight this.
I suspect he maybe removed his clothing from the house at a later point?

Also if accused did leave with the intention of "looking for a lost phone" why did he leave out the front of the house when it is stated he walked through wooded area to avoid police and is seen jumping over a wall at back of property?

I suppose he could have had a very quick shower in 1 minute. Unless he was looking for something specific? Or washing his hands.

This is the time frame he claims he was meeting a dealer and/or meeting TM. He claimed he gave his hoodie to TM because she was cold.

Thanks to everyone for all the reporting on the trial. I'm in the States but learned about this little girls disappearance when she went missing because I always read BBC news and this crime happened just three weeks before my husband and I were going to vacation in Scotland for two weeks. I have to say it is driving me crazy that I do not know the identity of this young man (killer) on trial.

I cannot imagine, as others are saying, how a reportedly drunk 16 year old managed to take this girl from her room. It is really perplexing. I question the Mom's truth as to how much her son drank and "how drunk" he really may have been, because now that her son is on trial the mom is going to look for anything to mitigate his actions (murder).

I know the mom called the police to say her son had been out and I do believe that was partly because she did think, knowing he was out at those hours of the early morn, that perhaps he witnessed something and could be of assistance. But I also think, not too far in the back of her head, she was absolutely considering the possibility of his part in Alesha's disappearance which is why it took a friend to convince her to contact the police. "He" , from what I've read, sounds like a nightmare of a son to contend with and I do agree with other's opinion that mom was likely intimidated by him and "picked her battles." It does not sound like mom has too much control over the 16 year old, nor her 14 year old. Why the heck did she let her 14 year old daughter leave with her sons older friends at 12:30 am after the post exam party. Geez.

I do not buy a word of the defense's argument suggesting that Toni had anything to do with Alesha's murder, nor did Toni meet the accused and have sex with him that night/early morning. That is ludicrous and the jury will see it as such, imo. It is obvious the accused has to come up with something because he surely has no intent on pleading guilty so, unfortunately, he has fabricated an outrageously untruthful account of his actions that night because in reality that is his only option (mud slinging). I feel for Toni being accused of any hand in any of Alesha's murder. Shame on this vindictive killer!

My biggest question too is why did he kill her and why so brutally. Was there some animosity, deep seated, that the accused held toward Toni or Alesha's father, I think there was/is. I do not believe Toni had any thing more than a casual relationship with the accused but I do believe the accused may have either "been interested in her" or "had/has it out for her." for whatever reason. But why pick a beautiful little six year old girl to victimize, just WHY ?. This 16 year old is the worst of the worst out there in my mind's eye. I am not so patiently waiting for him to be found guilty so I may learn his identity and view his social media "stuff" to maybe answer some questions.

Anyways, thanks again for reporting the on-going trial. Prayers for Alesha and all of her family as they endure this hellish trial. I hope the trial ends sooner than later and the family can get on with healing.

God this article is just awful
I wish I hadn’t read that now. Horrific doesn’t come close. This is one sick individual btw. I wish we had the death penalty in cases like these. Polmont won’t be kind to him though...

I noticed the mother said the CCTV showed him walking "past" the McPhails house ?

I suspect that the 1st time is the frame he is suggesting he met his dealer and TM, as he apparently left again to find his phone.
I didnt pick up on him leaving the 2nd time via the front of the house? I thought he left over a wall and assumed it was the same wall he returned over the 1st time

I think he was in the bathroom longer than that, having a shower. Perhaps didnt want to put the light on and maybe wake up his mother ? so only switched it on as he was leaving the bathroom and heading back out of the house again.
If bathroom had window, it would be getting light outside - see chart below

So everyone is out for lunch...I can’t imagine any of them will have an appetite. Maybe apart from the accused.....animal!

It's called first light but there's so little light at that point that it's still essentially pitch black dark, there wouldn't be anywhere near enough light coming through the window for you to see properly.

My personal speculation is that he turned the light on at the end of his shower to check for traces of blood in the shower (presumably it was blood being showered off).

We read and sleuth some awful crimes on here dont we, but I have to say this is one of the most sickening I have ever encountered. I sincerely hope - if guilty of course - that he doesn't end up in some kind of youth detention prison, followed by being back out in 10 years or less, with a new identity. I honestly don't think he is curable.
