Good catch - the group knew that Alesha was dead but didn't know she'd been murdered. He knew already.

Girl says accused started to get “anxious” as they talked on Snapchat. Jury hears accused said “police are going to blame it on me”. Girl knew accused had anxiety and panic attacks. Accused was saying police “always blame him for things” in the area.

She messaged accused after she finished work that evening asking if police had questioned him yet. She got no reply. She assumes he had been arrested by this point.

I wonder if she means she assumed, in hindsight, that he had been arrested - or did she have a feeling beforehand that it was him

She says they had a Snapchat conversation in the afternoon after Alesha was found. She tells the court he started to get anxious and said the police were going to blame it on him because he says they “always blame him for stuff that happens in the area of Ardbeg“

She tells the jury the accused boy sent a video of himself in his bathroom mirror to the snapchat group before sending a message which said “found the guy who’s done it” She says she thought it was a “a bad joke” but told police about it after the boy was arrested.

Does anyone NOT think he is cocky now???? Jeezus, I am absolutely horrified

Girl says accused had told her on Facebook Messenger in 2017 that they had spoken about killings and crime TV shows. She claims accused told her he would “kill for the life experience”

What is the ruling to have a given verdict

8 apparently

Criminal procedure in Scotland is generally regulated by the Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1995 (as amended) and various Acts of Adjournal passed by the High Court of Justiciary.

Juries in these cases consist of 15 people, if jurors drop out e.g. because of illness the trial can continue with a minimum of 12 jurors.
In criminal trials conviction is on the basis of a majority verdict, with eight jurors required to decide that the accused is guilty; should fewer than eight jurors declare a guilty verdict then the accused is acquitted, so a hung jury is an impossibility in Scottish criminal law.

I would’ve thought these witnesses at the moment are for the prosecution and once they have finished then the defence can call their own witnesses/ or the Accused.

Jury shown Facebook conversation between girl and the accused which details how they would “theoretically” get away with murder. She suggests a machete, the accused says “nah it would be much more cunning than that” The defence says the conversation is the pair “talking rubbish”
