Im not sure to what extent this is allowed since it has not been reported on, but I have seen many comments by someone who I’m confident is a family member denying that there was a sexual motive, and she was begging for people to stop speculating about that, since it is hard enough as it is.
It may or may not be the case, but I think it’s probably best to err on the side of caution and try to abide by the family’s wishes.

Please don’t think I’m having a go at you, I know it is just comments on social media and we have no way of confirming, but I wanted to make you and everyone aware so we don’t hurt the family.

Absolutely I agree ..I hadn't seen any mention of it on social media just wondered why there wasn't any specifics on the charge. Terrible situation for the family

Considering this message and the fact that she was in care at the time of the death? I’d say he’s trying to cover his back by murdering her. He seems like a creep. Reninds me of Scott walker

There has been no mention of cause of death, the method may give some insight I think. Was it a spontaneous attack or did he take a weapon with intention to hurt, threaten or kill Amber? Either way, Amber stood no chance.

I couldn’t find him on the court rolls, under either surname. It’s a long list tbf.

Some interesting conversations come up on those (him commentimg; not speculation) including the dynamic of him & people he knows plus what must be thought of him months before this all happened.

She could’ve been in the dark and finding out about it at the same time as everyone else, in denial, it could’ve been an isolated incident that same night he killed her, or it could even be unrelated to Amber. Calling her dodgy is frankly a bit rude

Amber’s death was initially treated as unexplained, but police later launched a murder inquiry following a post-mortem examination.


A police watchdog has been ordered to investigate Police Scotland’s handling of the case, understood to relate to the missing person investigation.
