Any chance the murderer was female?

  • #603
Now hold up. That is actually a smart theory. The Killer could be female.

Possible, there has been reports she was unfaithful, but I can't comment on that coz I don't know the facts.

But just say she had, and that person was married or in a relationship then that's a motive, it happens all the time so yeah that is possible.

Only reason I doubt it is there were only males that were ever seen or described. Also ann was found with her bottom half stripped, would a woman do that?

On that last point, it has happened before, So there is once again still a possibility. Though this is just a theory.

Yes, a woman would do exactly that to make it look like a male was guilty, imo, speculation.

Yeah, you are right...anything is possible

...Apologies for jumping to conclusions.

If the murder weapon was long, not unlike a sword or fireplace poker etc, could the perp have stood at a bit of a distance, to cut AH's throat, using the tip to pry off the bikini bottoms?
No direct physical contact? imo, speculation.

Unfortunately no major developments to report!

A 'failed' rape remains a definite possibility IMO, and the police certainly haven't ruled out such a scenario.

It’s a very difficult murder to make sense of imo, especially because I don’t think the exact nature of her injury (or injuries) has ever been confirmed? “Throat slit”, “throat cut”, “stabbed in the neck” - all phrases that are used interchangeably in news sources, but are obviously quite different things.

I suppose a farm worker or gardener would have had a blade to hand, so it’s not a bad shout at all imo.

I'm sticking with this theory of a farm worker. Like you say I've looked this up and everytime the net suggests a tractor driver would likely carry a stanley knife, but it's the Internet, I don't know if this is a thing but thinking of it. It all makes sense.

Does anyone know anything on David Hauxwell?

He strangled his lover and stabbed her in the neck in Darlington August 1990, the same time around Anne Heron.

Hauxwell had a history of violence and had previously served jail sentences for assault and wounding, including a five-year sentence for repeatedly stabbing a previous partner. He was sentenced to life imprisonment for Storey's murder.
I could only find one picture of him, that's if it's him and he was tanned but with quite bushy hair I think.

It can't be related as you would think the police would have certainly looked into this. But it's just too weird.

Carol Storey was found murdered on 27th August 1990. Hauxwell was in custody within 24 hours of the body being discovered.

Hauxwell has a long history of theft and violence in Darlington. Several serious assaults on his ex wife, at least two unprovoked street attacks on men, car theft etc etc.

He had at least half a dozen addresses, all of them in Darlington, and all between 2 and 4 miles of Ann's house

I've lived in Darlo my entire life and I wasn't aware of this until I come across it this morning by accident, I was trying to look for a woman who was attacked near darlington but can't remember if it were before or after Ann but it was close either way & I think she died not long after but I can't find what originally read a few years back.

Hauxwall committed this murder on the same estate I live on, though our family didn't move there until 93. And the drive from there to Aeolian house is under 10 minutes, even the walks not too bad, I walked towards there everyday for 18 years working but the cut off was about 10 minutes before there and a few minutes from Cleveland bridge where Peter worked.

I've searched everywhere, he was as far as know, had no connection, the police took it as just another incident even though it were 3 weeks apart. If you type his name on Google images he's tanned which is the description people give. I'm still going with a tractor driver lusting over a woman in a bikini...the only other explanation is was he seeing her/did he know her coz other than that he has no reason to be at that house.

Could be the lights but he's 100% tanned here if it's not. Her daughter suffered the same fate exactly 19 years later in Middlesbrough.
