Though it does make you very aware that if anything ever happens to you, you’ll have a plethora of amateur sleuths scrutinising you’re every move...

Welcome to Websleuths.

I still can’t help wondering if he left in a car from Lewes. I know a lot of time has been put into looking for CCTV and on Lewes itself but I just can’t help feeling that he left in a car.

Just some information from the FB group that hopefully clears up the mystery about the last sighting of Anthony. I am under the impression this has come from a family member of his or friend.

"The last footage we have is 19:41 from market street and that is it. We have checked all CCTV available. The police also have the data protected CCTV to look over."

I hope this clears it up and if the information has already been posted, I apologise for the repetition.

I'm sure they've checked for any vehicles going down there, theres certainly going to be camera coverage at the war memorial it's part of the main high street. If he isn't found on Thursday when everyone gets back to work then he's just fallen off the face of the planet. A complete mystery.

@Dogtopia It really is a mystery. I had thought he would of been found sooner and I can't imagine what his family are feeling. I do find it odd how there has been no discovery, which always makes me believe either 1 - the water, or 2 - he got out of town.

If he ended up in the water he likely wouldn’t have emerged yet. Let’s pray this isn’t the case, and he shows up with lots of ‘splainin to do.

amateur opinion and speculation

Either way, I am surprised that there is no more footage of him although I’m guessing he’s difficult to spot as his clothing, hair and build are pretty unremarkable on busy streets.

The green area right in the centre of the attached photo, it looks quite thick and dense - is this some kind of park? I’m assuming this area has been searched thoroughly.

Never been up there not sure if it's accessible it's a mound of mostly scrub land maybe an old battlement for the castle. There's a rumoured escape tunnel from the castle to Lewes arms in local lore.

Have dogs been used in any of these searches do we know?

Plus this report, I expect there's others

Chief Inspector Sarah Godley said: [...] the search for Mr Knott has included local officers, drones and the dog unit, as well as support from fire brigades, helicopter service, search and rescue staff and the Coastguard agency.

Not gdpr then but I wonder why on google street view faces are blurred out.... yet cctv of everyone on a night out is fair game

would it be shared still if kids were in the footage?

feels wrong somehow

I really have no idea where he could be now, as the information up thread suggests everywhere has been looked. The only options I have left is the water has took him out? Or he left town and the police shouldn't of constricted their search, I mean what evidence was there to say he didn't leave town?

bbm

I don't think there's evidence that he didn't leave town but simply no indication that he did based on cctv at the station and bus services, no use of Uber etc.

He could still have walked out of town or got into a car I suppose.

Looking at the footage in front of the pub smoking etc, he seems tense and nervous. The pacing, smoking, looking around etc, just seems like a tense person to me. Could of course be his everyday demeanour, and it could have many reasons that have nothing to do with his disappearance.

People suggesting bringing in the army on some posts!

that would be a great expense when there’s not one clue as to where he may even be for them to search. No crime has taken place as we are aware so stepping down the searches now seems best solution

hope he’s found soon

On the lewes social media page some new potential cctv has been posted where 3 people cross the high street in front of ASK Italian and walk down station st at 20.05..the owner of the cctv could not tell if the 3 people were together but the one man walked with a "limp"View attachment 222900 View attachment 222901
Not to sure about the potential likeness in this image. For me it just looks like 3 randomers.

The images have already been dismissed. It's not Anthony.

Yes but he's a firefighter and they have lots of medicals. I'm sure it would be picked up by the doctor's.
Can we try and put this to bed. IF and its a really big IF he has Aspergers or similar comdition it doesnt necessarily prohibit him from joining the emergency services.

Hello All, This is the scenario! It is a work get together Anthony's Fiannce drops him off at aprox 12:30pm to meet up with his colleauges and have a good time. The agreement is he will be back home by 2AM so as his Fiance can go to work (one assumes he has to be home because there are Children to look after and so they are not at home alone by them selves.

I really do not believe albeit possible that a gentleman who had gone from an electrician to a firefighter with all the dedication it takes in both trades dump his fiancee and Children a few days before Christmas.

As a smoker I do believe it is very possible to leave somewhere quickly in order to
  • Have a quick smoke outside usually unnoticed. (yep done it myself many a time)
  • If you realise you havent got ciggies find somewhere to buy them (I Have done this as well quite unknown to my group of friends)
  • Find a ciggie store go back to where you started only to find your mates gone.
  • I am also one of those people who get to a point in time on a Social outing where I just want to go home and will make a snap decission and just do it.
I personally think Anthony went missing between going on a ciggerette finding mission and returning to where he thought his friends would be but wern't. They had moved on without noticing him missing. He thought Fk It and tried to make his way home.

Just My Personal Opinion Nothing More
