The pubs round here are full of it. Someone I know used to run a pub here and they had a massive problem with people doing coke in the toilets.

Even if he was doing coke, it does not make you disappear? And if he was not from that area how would he know who to get it off and surely he would not go alone to get it. I doubt very much he was doing coke

There has been literally zero information from friends and family about the evening in question-is that normal in these cases? and now the police have called off the searches. So they’re assuming if water is concerned he will be found eventually OR they just have no clues?

More likely LE, as they may not have ruled out foul play. *If* foul play is indicated, they don't want any info about his movements leaking out IWT.

Same happened in the missing Corrie case. The friends he was out with that night remained tight-lipped throughout the investigation and still remain so.

The trains had been cancelled and only started running around that time, so was probably very crowded on the CCTV, plus there was also a bus he could have caught.
One thing I did notice was on the early evening footage as A leaves it’s a group of 4 who walk off. There was 12 of them out altogether, they obviously weren’t sticking like glue as a group and were catching up and leaving people throughout the day. Do they have bouncers on pub doors in Lewes and do they all allow large groups in?

Yes, you'd think something would have emerged by now - was he heavily intoxicated, did he leave his friends and go off in a huff, what was his state of mind at the time and how /why did they get separated from him?
Did he leave the pub with an errand in mind?
It's odd IMo that no one is saying anything.

No it doesn’t make you disappear, it can give you a false sense of bravado though. He may have got a number of another local punter in the bar. He may have met a dodgy dealer. The dealer may have asked him to come alone as to not draw attention. If meeting a dealer, it’s highly unlikely that they would want to meet directly outside the bar. This is all my opinion and speculation, I just wouldn’t rule it out. As mentioned by another poster, it’s not as taboo these days.

I’ve read other comments on other forums that he may have made it back to his home town and something happened there? What are thoughts on this?

Point of Order. Lots of people bemoaning the lack of information from the police! Realistically what do you expect? A blow by blow account of the enquiry? A summary of each and every witness statement? Notifications of every piece of evidence? What would that achieve?

I've just read that they are not searching Lewes anymore. I think you could be right, he might have got home, he must have got the train, so someone must have seen him. They must have CCTV at the station. Yes he could of met a dealer, but he would not of gone alone .He would of had to have some cash off the others if they were all on it. You would be talking about £50 a bag that would be £20 here. I don't think that at all. The others would of gone looking for him. Who knows what happened if he did get home.

I've just read that they are not searching Lewes anymore. I think you could be right, he might have got home, he must have got the train, so someone must have seen him. I think that the police might have an idea, that's why they are not searching Lewes anymore. I think he had calls on his phone to get home. He was anxious because you don't know what was said. I think he left the pub to go home, so I would think catch a train home. I'm surprised he hasn't had to wait for the train, so there might be CCTV. I think he got home.

Yes we know that, isn't that the reason we are on here to discuss it. The police can't tell the public everything .They might already know but are watching that person to let them trip up.

I think they know why he left the pub. I think he was getting lots of calls and texts about getting himself home. I don't think his partner was very happy about him being out all day on the beer.

I wouldn't of thought they had bouncers in the day. Just on a night, from about 8pm. They will have them on in the town pubs I would think. A party of 12 always gets split up, some drink faster than others, some want to move on. You never all stay together. Did his mates go look for him when he didn't come back!

They probably have told the police things but the police are not saying. The only person I've seen is his fiancee. Sometimes the police let who they suspect hang themselves. Like Ian Huntley.

Jmo but I doubt the police said his friends can’t talk about that evening. There seems to be no evidence of a crime, certainly not any arrest, nothing to protect for a fair trial.

Some people want to speak out to the media, some do not. I think it is more likely they decided about amongst themselves to stay quiet. But jmo.

I have just watched a video of AK walking carrying a white plastic bag. He does not have a black jacket on. There are 2 men following him, you see him turn as if to keep an eye on them. They walk faster up to him and you see him turn to say something to them. I think they ask him something first and then he turns.

The young girl who lived near me Libby Squire, they searched the water ways for her. They found her 7 weeks later in the Humber Estuary. They still searched for her, they knew she was in the water, but had not emerged yet. Water gets rid of DNA but not always all of it. They charged that polish butcher with her murder, and rape so they must have found DNA and that was after 7 weeks.
