Have I missed something obvious all along? I thought this was a group of friends from the same firestation out in Lewes for the night but I've read something on the Lewes Present page that says it was a group of firefighters from different areas who chose Lewes as a central meet up. Now this might not be true or I might have missed this early on. Anyone any idea ?

Sister in law said same firestation on social media

It's a world famous suicide spot. Very high vertical cliff faces for miles between seaford and Eastbourne

Aha.....Thanks. That's why the word 'macabre' is used. I see now.

The video where all three pedestrians (identified as Anthony plus the unknown man and unknown woman) are walking - they may also be looking for traffic as they are approaching a zebra crossing - to check if/when it will be safe to cross. The van driver might well be travelling a bit too fast (downhill), realises that pedestrians are a bit close to the crossing, slows down...just my thoughts.

At the time he went missing the tide had just turned from its highest point which means it would be heading out to sea pretty rapidly. With the high volume of water that night the current would be stronger that usual. The river doesn't go though any populated areas after Lewes until Newhaven then it's into the English channel.
Holy moly. That's v worrying if he went in

I think they know why he left the pub. I think he was getting lots of calls and texts about getting himself home. I don't think his partner was very happy about him being out all day on the beer.
What are you basing this on? I have seen no evidence to support this or your previous suggestion that he was "under the thumb". His partner is to all intents and purposes a victim in this situation as it stands, according to the facts I am aware of at this point.

So, just to clear a few things up (and this is based upon a map where his movements are traced with times on), he leaves The Lamb at 19.16, heads in a direction past the E&C last seen at 19.21, and then is caught by CCTV returning in the opposite direction with a white bag in his hand @19.37.

Have I got that right and, if I have, what shops are open and in that possible vicinity of 19.21 during the unaccounted 20 minutes?

I’m pretty sure it’s another pedestrian, not AK,
carrying the bag. If you are viewing in a small screen you might assume that person was AK, but he’s actually behind the two people who are carrying bags.

Can somebody please post the cctv footage we are talking about? Thx. I posted a very clear footage of him walking behind a couple carrying bags....it's pretty clear that he has nothing in his hands....or are we talking about another footage?

Looking at the above footage, it almost seems to me like Anthony speeds up when he sees the van going past. The van then puts their indicator on when it's almost level with Anthony to turn (checking Google maps there is a turning there). Total speculation, but could he have been meeting with the driver of the van? That could explain the time he spent not being seen and then walking back past the camera later.

He does seem to speed up. I also think that a couple of times (the very start and near the end) he strides out as though trying to overtake them. This could also be why they half-look over their shoulders.

If this is the case, was he in a hurry? Or is he a naturally faster-paced walker?

I’m referring to the one you posted...which is indeed a much clearer and closer-up version of the one which may have confused people.

That's the footage talked about. Blondie confused everyone with the statement he is carrying a bag.

I think it looks like he was trying to get past them, looks as if he didn't realise they were crossing and almost cut them up at the zebra crossing. That stretch of road is on a decline so it might have been why he was walking faster.

The moment I saw the footage (before it was cleaned up and zoomed in) something didn't seem right to me. Anthony literally bumps into the 2 people in front of him when they were near the crossing (pretty sure he is close enough to touch them). He seems in a hurry to be somewhere to me, and it just seemed to coincide with the van passing, which imho is very strange.

Of course as someone else said they could have all just been looking down the road to see if any traffic was coming for when they cross the road, but i'm not so sure... all 3 seem to look right at the van and follow it with their eyes as it passes. Would be very interesting to find out of those two people have been found, maybe they could clear it up a bit.

-edit-

Actually, I take that last bit back. Just had a better look at it and the person in the middle (a lady?) does actually carry on looking back down the road after the van passes like she's looking for more traffic. All 3 seem to turn roughly at the same time as the van passes though, which is strange imho.

Thanks....(again)...that is what happens when people don't read or watch. Sorry guys for sounding so annoyed....I'm sure everybody want the best for this man and his fiancé....The fact that you are on here says enough....but sometimes I get so frustrated....sorry, again.

I can’t make out him bumping into the people he’s walking behind but do think it appears as if he’s talking to them.

I don’t think it’s right for anyone to be saying he’s under the thumb or was receiving calls/texts to go home etc. Pure speculation and not helpful imo.

I totally agree.

I think his fiancé is a very balanced person and not some hysterical sobbing woman because her guy goes out. She knew him and was certain, trusted him, could built on him, when she made the appointment with him getting back on time...before she had to go to work....at 3:00 am, he would be there and she knew. She even brought him there (wicklich or whatever). Sorry...just my feelings based on the information that is shared.

Sometimes a speed up for getting the green/walking light....and not wanting to wait....
