Where is the father and the stepfather? It was the stepgrandad at the conference. Poor poor woman.

I should imagine the extended family are all together, maybe he was chosen to accompany the mother because he was the one least likely to crumble, it's clear the woman needed a pillar, so, so heartbreaking.

Because in the UK it isn't like America you cant ask for counsel. IMO they don't have rights in the UK. They can question you for as long as they want. You cant say I want a lawyer, I don't wanna chat, yadda yadda. So this suspect could be grilled for over 12 hours a day if I am not mistaken. I am for one glad that I live in America where we have rights.

In the UK questioning goes on for hours and hours. I think when they get tired they just swap someone out to keep the torture going until you crack. In the USA we have learned that this elicits a lot of false confessions. I for one am glad they at least have the right to sleep (if thats right).

You should Google 'no comment interview' then Youtube it. Look up a few famous interviews from older suspects. Its hours and hours of "no comment". They do not have the right to remain silent. I have no doubt that they have had many false confessions in the UK. At least in the USA we have learned our lesson about keeping people up for 48 hours while questioning them.

Too many famous cases with false confessions.

Anyhow I have been watching this case unfold and I am of the opinion that they are now ISO a body. Sad. When I first saw that she was 5 years old I had hoped someone took her to keep her and not to harm her. We will see but it doesn't look good. LE obviously has the information to get the job done as they are moving very swiftly. You would already have heard about a body if he was talking. Hes probably saying 'no comment'.

Shows how little you know about the Uk's legal system. Better to do a little research first.

They get enough rest, with breaks for lunch, dinner and tea, toilet breaks and so on. We are no way unfair, believe me I could be alot worse.

Yeah, seeing as it appears everyone in the estate knows MB, and April was seen getting into his van, it's hard to understand how it took cops 20hrs or whatever to bring him in for a chat, when he hadn't left town.

Personally I think he *had* left town and come back again the following day, I can't think of any other explanation for it taking so long to find him.

I hope you're right. That would yield the best chance of little April being alive.

God that was harrowing to watch, poor woman, poor loved ones

That's a little odd to me, because wouldn't that child have been able to tell police "April got into a van with my dad" and then police would have, from the start, knew exactly what type of car the man drove, his name, etc. and would have issued a BOLO? Right?

Whats BOLO mean?

That was just devastating to watch. I hope they find a way to give this poor woman peace very soon.

I think the press need to clear up the relationships. From everything I have read, Paul is April's biological father. Dai, who appeared at the news conference supporting Coral, is Paul's step father. They should have introduced him as Coral's Father in law, as that is essentially who he is.

Incidentally, she did look very much like the lady in the car yesterday, the clip of which I cannot find as my internet is rapidly dying in a conspiracy to make me leave the house for work today.

Mum-of-two Vicky Fenner told how the two close friends had been playing together when the kidnapper struck.

The 25-year-old added: “The two girls went out together and we’ve been told by the seven-year-old that April got into a vehicle parked behind the garages.

"It was wet and cold and the other girl told April not to get into it. But April said: ‘It’s all right, I know them’

I know the witness is only 7 but "them" - misquote? accomplice?

Before I get confused with the new info....do people think that this situation was premeditated (i.e. having April in his car 2 days earlier)? I am now wondering whether he may have prepared for this abduction in advance. As I said yesterday, I just cannot get the thoughts of The Lovely Bones book out of my head...and as an ex-soldier he may be adept at creating an underground hideout, or at least a hideout that would be difficult to find. If that is the case, little April may be 'safe,' but well hidden, please God.

His former partner E.D., who lives close to April's home, has another daughter by her new partner, who was with April when Mr Bridger offered them a ride in his Land Rover last week.
Miss Fenner said: "April was playing with her friends and it has come out that they have been in the van before.
"They drove them down the road from the estate and chatted with them. I don't know if it was just the three little girls who rode in the van or some of their other friends as well."
