You would have to wonder who this "they" is especially with April saying she knew "them".

Before I get confused with the new info....do people think that this situation was premeditated (i.e. having April in his car 2 days earlier)? I am now wondering whether he may have prepared for this abduction in advance. As I said yesterday, I just cannot get the thoughts of The Lovely Bones book out of my head...and as an ex-soldier he may be adept at creating an underground hideout, or at least a hideout that would be difficult to find. If that is the case, little April may be 'safe,' but well hidden, please God.

This hasnt even made the news in Australia, but there was lots of coverage
on that other young girl who was taken by her step father and found in the roof cavity, (i think from memory she was from UK also) there is no consistency here in what makes a news headline.

Definitely....Kara Alongi has made news here but this one hasn't....Considering the recent case of Jill Meagher, this case is very similar except that poor little April has had previous contact with this individual. Hoping that this case has a better outcome than that of Jill....

The reports on this case started coming in yesterday in Australia...today there were updates on skynews tv also.

As far as I can see from the newspaper reports, MB was not the 7 year old's father.......the newspaper said the 7 year old's mother used to be with MB,but had split from him and this child was the child of another partner.
Having said that, it would have been reasonable to hope the 7 year old might have known him as her mother's ex b/f

The news reports say the parents have been together for many years, but just got legally married a few months ago. So, assuming mom was faithful, then I'd say that he is her bio dad.

Opal, it does seem as though PJ is the biological father, cant see any report, in all the papers I have read, that refers to him as a step father or partner of CJ.

I have not seen anywhere that he is but

In every MSM report he has been named as her dad - no step-dad seen anywhere
There has been no other 'dad' come forward, or comment from April's biological father, and even if estranged, they often come forward at times like this

Also with the river swollen and flowing as fast as it was yesterday she could well be a good bit down stream,or even in the estuary.
