How can anyone get the car colour so wrong though? Its not white or grey but bright/dark blue.
Certainly a problematic issue in the case. So is the age of the witness.

Wearing camo when he was found walking... I wonder if he wears it regularly or if it was to help blend in if he's dumped her in woodland somewhere. :(

Hes ex army so possible its his normal attire

Because in the UK it isn't like America you cant ask for counsel. IMO they don't have rights in the UK. They can question you for as long as they want. You cant say I want a lawyer, I don't wanna chat, yadda yadda. So this suspect could be grilled for over 12 hours a day if I am not mistaken. I am for one glad that I live in America where we have rights.

In the UK questioning goes on for hours and hours. I think when they get tired they just swap someone out to keep the torture going until you crack. In the USA we have learned that this elicits a lot of false confessions. I for one am glad they at least have the right to sleep (if thats right).

You should Google 'no comment interview' then Youtube it. Look up a few famous interviews from older suspects. Its hours and hours of "no comment". They do not have the right to remain silent. I have no doubt that they have had many false confessions in the UK. At least in the USA we have learned our lesson about keeping people up for 48 hours while questioning them.

Too many famous cases with false confessions.

Anyhow I have been watching this case unfold and I am of the opinion that they are now ISO a body. Sad. When I first saw that she was 5 years old I had hoped someone took her to keep her and not to harm her. We will see but it doesn't look good. LE obviously has the information to get the job done as they are moving very swiftly. You would already have heard about a body if he was talking. Hes probably saying 'no comment'.

An arrested person can ask for a solicitor. If they can't afford one, a duty solicitor is appointed.

Arrested people do have rights in the UK. They must have a break at normal meal times, breaks for drinks after two hours and 8 hours sleep in any 24 hour period.

Since the introduction of PACE there are strict guidelines on how a person under arrest must be treated.

The notice of rights and entitlements sets out a person's rights while in police detention and is issued in accordance with the Police and Criminal Evidence Act Code of Practice C, paragraph 3.2.

Here is a simplified version of an arrested persons rights.

A seven year old surely can tell the difference. But yes, eye witness accounts are not always accurate in every detail.

If it was at a garage surely they will have checked when it was brought in and what for.

It would also be getting dark at that time so that might be a factor in not getting the colour correct.

it's my understanding he has 2 vehicles ? 1 that was found yesterday by a foot bridge (the light colored van ) and the one releashed at 10:30 was found in a garage close to where he was found too

The police are now calling for local volunteers who know the area.

Wow, asking for civilian searchers to come back and help

Oh thanks, I will go and reread the reports

eta there was a ford transit white van found near the bridge near to where he was arrested, but it didnt say it belonged to him. Then they go pick up the blue car. Its a bit confusing.

Yes you can ask for a lawyer before being interviewed and during an interview. And yes you do have the right to remain silent..

I've seen a MSM report where it stated his job was Mechanic ( The Mirror, or The Sun) - If this is correct the land rover being found in a garage would seem rather normal?

(whereas a lot of other news reported stated he was a pool attendant / life guard) ?

(Here are my thoughts and please delete/tell me off if I am not allowed to say this.)

The mugshot of the person arrested is.......arresting, isn't it? Defeated, self-pitying and rather dead behind the eyes.

Lone wolf.

Serial failed relationships with women.

From Sky News - Press conference. Bridger is "known to police."

Having looked for information about him yesterday, I see he worked in a slaughterhouse previously. He kept live chickens in the house. He was evicted for this. (By the way, to be evicted from a rented property in the UK takes some doing.)

On his FB page yesterday (I can't find it now) is a pic of him outdoors, side-on, holding what looks like an automatic weapon (from his time in the forces? - don't know - he did not appear to be wearing a uniform).

Telegraph states he was a keen camper. I think it will come out that he liked to shoot wildlife. Keen campers and walkers do not wear camoflage in the UK. I know because I am one and have camped/walked/climbed for many years.

Telegraph has a profile of him. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ukn...s-profile-of-former-soldier-Mark-Bridger.html

To me, the way this is going to pan out is all too depressingly predictable. :(

Where is the father and the stepfather? It was the stepgrandad at the conference. Poor poor woman.

Horrible reporting by Sky News. The LE at the press conference clearly said, "this is April's mother and April's step-GRANDAD".

Soon as the conference was over, Sky reporter says "that was a public appeal by April's mother and her husband" *shakes head*.

The reporter also said that the police now wanted volunteers to go with mountain rescue, when the officer at the press conference did NOT say that, he said they had a group of 50 people currently helping and that they were grateful for that.

Sorry, I just get so annoyed at sloppy reporting and don't get me started on inappropriate questions reporters ask over and over again, I mean it isn't rocket science what is appropriate and highly appropriate to ask, Gah!
