Situations like these lead to arguments and conflict with ex's getting jealous and spiteful toward each other? I note there is nothing in the press that points to MB as having been a drunken brawler, but he is certainly a womaniser. More likely to produce jealous spiteful women, than a jealous spiteful man?

And that white Ford Connect that I am obsessed with was being 'guarded' by the old bill around the time the arrest was made, very close to the cycle bridge.

Yes I know, it bugs me too. My reading is that LE wanted to detain him from very early on. Even if only to eliminate him from enquiries at that point. I still have a sneaking suspicion that the car descriptions were a way to get the public on the lookout without actually naming him. imo & jmo and I could be completely wrong.

FWIW The OAP didn't name MB. The grinding gears was early on Tuesday morning and was not reported by the couple. The couple who were ex-neighbours saw him *walking* by the cycle bridge on the A487 at about 2:15pm on Tuesday which led to his arrest at 3:30pm. The Landrover was found at the garage after his arrest, a little later on the same day.

I think we have a failure to communicate but that's what I said bascially too? Twice now I've posted and been corrected with the same thing I said? I'll just bow out & read.

Let's find April.

Sorry if I misread your post. Trying to piece the news reports together and make sense of everything is a nightmare.

There's no news showing up as of yet today as far as I can see. There were a few tweets from locals/searches last night about the police helicopter returning for the first time in a few days. Apart from that I've heard nothing new on the search progress.

Totally agree - the video on the BBC that I posted a few pages back describes vehicles and give examples of the Connect and the Landrover as being similar to what they were looking for. Did he own both vehicles? We've seen lots about the landrover, nowt about the Connect. I did wonder if the garage owner had loaned him the Connect when he put the landrover in there (did it really need repairing or was it a way to hide the vehicle in plain sight?) but going on the news reports and timing of the information, the Connect was shown being guarded while they were still enquiring about the whereabouts of the landrover.

Unless the Connect is being held as further 'secret' evidence? However, in the search for April's location, they have only asked for sightings of the Landrover, which leads me to believe the Connect may have been a bit of a red herring, perhaps to back up the witness statement about seeing a light coloured vehicle.

This has me baffled.

I keep getting confused between the US definition of murder and the UK one. They are quite different, but I have watched so many american trials on TV now that I keep on forgetting the UK definition.

Always important to read definition together with definition of other charges for accused. Some jurisdictions have an offence of 'murder when death occurs during commission of another indictable offence'. The other offence may be defined as one which carries a penalty of at least a certain term of imprisonment.

From what I've read, I am not convinced he actually lived with VF although there is not a huge amount of information about where he lived other than the past 6 months

If we work a little timeline for his accommodation during the VF relationship it might be this:

September 2012 Moved to Ceinws (Friend and villager Carl Utteridge, 76, said he had spoken briefly with Mr Bridger when they were both waiting for a bus several weeks ago. “He was living here and waiting for a bus into Machynlleth but we didn’t say much. He had only been living here about a month and we only spoke the once. He didn’t say much.”)

April 2012 Moved into Llanbrynmair (The couple’s 22-year-old son, a garage worker also called Paul Edwards, said: “I knew Mark relatively well, since he moved in about six months ago. About three-to-four weeks ago I realised he’d moved out)

(where was he living at this point? With VF? And if it was with VF, where had he come from?)

Oct/Nov 2011 got together with VF (reports say they were together for 11 months but split a 'few weeks back', which was quoted about a fortnight ago, making the split around mid September)

(I've not seen anything regarding accommodation prior to this date)

Edit: This is all very vague and lots based on people saying 'a few weeks ago', which if they are anything like me, could mean a few months ago! If anyone has any corrections or amendments, please wade in and add them.

Amber34. I remember reading somewhere but now I cannot find it. One of MB's neighbours stated that when MB first moved into mount pleasant that there was a female partner with children that used to visit or be there. I am sure I read it, I just wondered if you remember it too.

This might help - from Crown Prosecution Service. http://www.cps.gov.uk/legal/h_to_k/homicide_murder_and_manslaughter/

Subject to three exceptions (see Voluntary Manslaughter below) the crime of murder is committed, where a person:

of sound mind and discretion (i.e. sane);
unlawfully kills (i.e. not self-defence or other justified killing);
any reasonable creature (human being);
in being (born alive and breathing through its own lungs - Rance v Mid-Downs Health Authority (1991) 1 All ER 801 and AG Ref No 3 of 1994 (1997) 3 All ER 936; under the Queen's Peace;
with intent to kill or cause grievous bodily harm (GBH).

I don't recall reading that myself, but that's not to say it isn't 'out there'.

Would be VERY interesting to find out who that female was. Could be ED, who he has 2 children with, could be VF around the time they split up, could be a completely different love interest we've not heard about, or could simply be a friend visiting for tea!

Yes that bugs me too. Especially when the LE said this was the only vehicle involved.

I am googling like crazy lol. But it would prove that someone knew his address. I still believe MB was missing monday night.

I think we need to make a list of the things we know for sure and the things that are speculation. As sometimes this forum gets comfusing.

You're right. Considering this is a town where everyone knows everyone else's business, I doubt you could fart without the news spreading. Lots of people would have known where he had moved to. There have been quotes saying the owner of the rented house in Ceinws had been down to look it over before it was rented out, when he moved out of 'chicken house' people would have naturally have asked where he was moving to, the old boy at the bus stop knew he had been there a month and other neighbours reported knowing he had moved in but hadn't yet seen him.

Plenty knew where he had moved to. Just none knew where he was the night April went missing.

This one shows the interior. Are you referring to the left hand drive aspect, or the fact the dashboard is different.

The instrument binnacle is very prominent so I'm trying to understand why I struggle to see it when looking at the pics of MB's Discovery. Either it's present and the light or viewing angle is playing tricks on me or, failing that, it was removed for some reason. Perhaps this gives a clue as to the nature of the problems MB was having with the vehicle? Or perhaps it was removed by LE as part of the forensic investigation?

Isn't the definition of murder that it's premeditated? .

You are confusing premeditation with intent. It's not the same thing.

In the context of housing in Wales, what is an "estate"? I am referring to the estate where AJ and her parents lived.
