For Anglesey: 14/10/12

First Light: 7:07am - Sunrise: 7:42am
Sunset: 6:25pm - Last Light 7:00pm
Is sunset not the same for the whole of England, Scotland and Wales?

Official sunset is 18:21 for me tonight, so I'll be looking to see how long after that it actually gets dark and at what time the street lights come on.

Depends where you are, not exactly the same. It is affected by latitude and longitude.

I don't know how to do that, but I just took a screenshot of the 3rd set of garages on that small estate. What is the car on the left?

Way back at the start of this case, someone managed to zoom into that photo of the landrover parked at the garages and I believe they got a partial plate by going in at a sideways angle.

It was concluded it is parked directly behind the Jones's property.

My own car sits directly under a street lamp and is the same colour as MB's. I want to know if the colour can appear light grey in the darkness, or under street lamp. I have never bothered to look before.

What colour streetlamps do you have?
I'd guess by looking at the images that those near the garages are the standard orange ones used on residential estates.

I live south of Machynlleth and it was dark here on Tuesday (day after abduction) at 7.15, so around 7 pm it would have been quite dusky.

We have read that the family said that A was allowed to play for an extra 10 minutes as a "treat". I can think of better 'treats' for 5 year old than being allowed to play near those unfriendly-looking garages at dusk for sure.

DS Bevan said that in the briefing where he showed photo of the Land Rover- that the time of day may have affected perception of the vehicle colour. Will be interesting to hear your feedback.

Left hand drive range rover. Wipers the same as for right hand drive?

BBM

No - they're the opposite way around to the ones in the garage picture and to the ones on our RH drive cars.

The resting position in that picture is with them to the left (as you're looking at the car) while the car in front of the garage has them resting to the right.
I do think that this is the standard. Wipers rest in front of the passenger side and swoosh upwards toward the driver's side - so LH and RH drive cars have them reversed.

Current weather forecasts for the area sound like it's pretty nippy, I know here even though it's spring once the sun sets it gets chilly.
Not having a go at the parents at all, but I get what you're saying.

OK a quick Google reveals that there are indeed different wiper motors with opposite directions for LH and RH vehicles - can't find anything that explicitly backs up what I'd thought though.

The closest is in this discussion here (post #13)

I'd never presume to know better than anyone else on here.

It would be interesting if others with LH drive vehicles could check out the direction of their wipers though.
Both of our RH drive cars have the same orientation as the one in the picture of the garages.

Hi Sarah,
I live in United Arab Emirates and all the cars here are left hand drives. My car and all the ones I see on the road have the windscreen wipers swiping from right to left.

Do parent/teacher meetings go on until 7pm? Seems really late for a local junior school to be open until that hour.

Some have them after hours to accomodate working parents, but conflicting reports said that Mr and Mrs J left meeting by 3.30pm.

This list is not comprehensive. I am still working on compiling and entering data into the database I am working on for the area.

If you click on the link below, it will open up a google map. I have customized the map with numbered icons, each icon representing a site of attempted abductions. Click on each numbered icon to read details about the particular event(s)

Although this is a work in progress, I have certainly noticed some patterns. Not a huge surprise, white transit vans are the vehicle most often used in the abduction attempts.

The other pattern I am starting to see, is groups of 2-3 men, making multiple attempts in a general area, over the course of a few days. I was also interested to note that the men were often described as "tanned".

I made individual entries for these incidents in the original database but lumped them together for simplicity on the map.
