Just noticed something about MB's Land Rover and I'm not sure whether this has been pointed out before? When comparing the image of MB's vehicle with a similar Series 1 Discovery is seems to me that MB's vehicle is missing the prominent instrument panel bulge and steering wheel. There also seems to be something peculiar about the bonnet. They do have odd looking bonnets but on MB's vehicle the bulge seems much more pronounced than that of any other Series 1 I've seen. If you look closely at the lip of the bonnet (where it meets the grille) then there's also a very noticeable colour mismatch. It almost looks as if a second bonnet has been plonked on top of the original?

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

That could be the light falling on it making it look darker? What about this Discovery http://www.autotrader.co.uk/used-ca...i-5dr-rotherham-fpa-201241488556527?logcode=p

Yes, and remember she wasn't on her own at any point. The further she was from her house, the nearer she was to one of the friends' houses, and vice versa.
But if the press is to be believed she was with one other girl, not "friends"

To be honest that car does look pretty grey overall and in dim light.....

What I find odd is that after the whole 'Left Hand Drive vehicle' thing came out from the LE, this woman (who lives on Bryn Y Gog estate) headed up the valley to Ceinws towards where MB is living, presumably to 'search', was chatting to a friend on a riverbank when 'Black Bag' guy came scrambling down some shale and she recognises him to be MB. How coincidental!:

Hears vehicle description of likely perp
Goes to search near his home
Finds him in an unusual place carrying a black bag
Tells LE and MEDIA!

she didnt say it was mb though did she?

He may have souped up the engine and needed to get a specially shaped bonnet to accommodate it. He sounds like perhaps a bit of a show off and I can imagine that explains why he wanted the less run of the mill type of vehicle and went for a LH drive.
Why did the police release his reg plate, but then cover up the front grill to hide the plate, or would it be covered to hide damage consistent with running someone over?

To be fair, she doesn't appear to have said anything to the press except that she had given a statement to the police. The more detailed account came from (I think) the other woman's father.

And the comments given to Sky were of a general nature. Sounds as if she might have been randomly stopped by a reporter and asked "how are people in the community feeling right now" style of thing.

Not a direct comparison - that's the 94-97 facelift model.

However, this one's the same as MB's and although I obviously need to withdraw my comments about the bonnet (my apologies folks!) I'm still looking for a clear answer about the instrument pod and steering wheel. Any takers?

Perhaps the vehicle was brought over by a Polish worker, do they make them different for the Polish market?

There was apparently a group of children to begin with, but the others had gone indoors a bit earlier.

My bad - I will edit my post. It appears that she wasn't the one telling the media.

It's clearly not been done to hide the plate, as there would be no need for it to extend so far. Couple of strips of tape would be enough to cover the plate.

How do you know the police covered up the grill, it has been said that was plastic sheeting used to stop the engine getting waterlogged

BIB from Supt John

April and best friend MH, aged seven, were playing on their bicycles near their homes when the van pulled up.

M is the key witness and was able to give police a crucial description of the driver. April’s parents had been at a parents’ evening at her primary school to see April’s teachers. Supt John explained: “The children were playing in a small group originally, but just two of them were there when April went into the van.

“They were playing very, very closely to the house.”

I'm still not sure what you're getting at here. If she knows MB and recognised the car description as matching his, doesn't seem unlikely to me that she might go and have a nose up near his house, see if the car's there etc.

I am utterly convinced that here are several in the community who know what the motive was for the abduction.

I too won't be at all surprised if this turns out to be so.

Seems like an amazing stroke of luck to go searching several miles away from home along a riverbank and hey ho, the possible perp appears in front of you with a black bag. Fortunate perhaps.

I am not saying she's involved at all, just amazed that she went a place that turns out to be significant.

Then within an hour and a half (the time it would take to walk from Ceinws area almost to the Dyfi bridge) MB is arrested by LE near the Dyfi bridge.

End of the day someones little baby has disappeared and its very tragic and heartbreaking. i was in my local tescos tonight and there was a little girl of four or five there and I was thinking how she could be dead and buried somewhere, what kind of abnormal person does this

has to be extremely abnormal

I dont think MB fits the profile jmo

I think someone else is responsible and he is a scapegoat

Unless it wasnt murder by him or a n other

I don't think it's that either, because the number plate is covered. He'd soon be in trouble driving around with a covered-up number plate.

(Well I suppose he is in some trouble, but ykwim)
