That's just the tip of the iceberg. It's a vast, vast mountainous area that's not that easy to walk even for the experienced. That's why we have mountain rescue teams to rescue the walkers we have here in normal times. As I posted on the other thread, if you wanted to search all of upland Wales, you'd need several hundred thousand people. You'd also need a fleet of helicopters and other mountain rescue teams to deal with the large %age of people who'll get into trouble.

I don't recall seeing their names mentioned anywhere.
So how was the childs name released or at least the initials and how come no oneknows her parents here

It's not necessarily that nobody knows her parents. If they haven't been named in MSM, they won't be named on here, as I understand it.

Because the witness statement of one child can easily be refuted. The statements of several privy to the same thing are not so easy to refute.

In order for CPS to have allowed the case to go forward, there will be much more than a single child's statement as evidence.

Sure. I know there is a timeline thread up in the stickies. Do we also have a cast of charcters? Clearly mosy of the players would need to be identified by initials oly, but I can see how it would be a helpful reference just o reduce confusion and redundancy on the thread.

And THAT link says

"April and best friend MH, aged seven, were playing on their bicycles near their homes when the van pulled up.
MH is the key witness and was able to give police a crucial description of the driver. April’s parents had been at a parents’ evening at her primary school to see April’s teachers. Supt John explained: “The children were playing in a small group originally, but just two of them were there when April went into the van.
“They were playing very, very closely to the house.”
ED, five, was also playing with April just yards from her home when April was driven off. ED's parents R and E were comforting her yesterday but her uncle said: “We’re searching the town and we’re doing everything we can. Her friends are very upset.”

Which is ambiguous because it says both that there were two of them there when April went into the van. I had originally taken this to mean April, and one other, namely MH. I now read this to mean that little ED (5) was a witness as well. So when it says "just of them were there when April went into the van" it means MH, and ED besides April herself. But clearly the 7 year old was a more skilled reporter of what transpired. But ED was also playing with her when "April was driven off."

Thanks very much for that link. I really need a character list. Using initials only makes it easy for me to forget who's who. If there's not one already, perhaps I'll start one.

Another report which cannot be trusted.

April was seen by a friend “willingly” climbing into the driver’s side of a van at 7pm on Monday by a row of garages just 200 yards from her front door.

“They were playing very, very closely to the house.”

600ft from the front door is not close.

I am not particularly tall myself and certainly couldn't just "climb into a van" I would struggle and I'm an adult. Even a Land Rover would be a slight struggle for me.

yes thanks so who are her parents
The point being if this mh child knew mb they would have identified him pdq

I don't know the names of her parents. As you can see, they were not named in that report (actually not even mentioned), and I don't remember them being named anywhere else. Although of course I may have missed something, I don't claim to have read every single article.

no worries just trying to establish if the child and or parents would have known mb

yes but what has it to do with life and death
Several witness could see a guilty man serve a sentence equivalent to death. One easily refuted witness could see a guilty man walk away with his life. I guess that is what I meant.

Their first names are not given, at least not from this link. The other child, the 5 year old ED her parents are Rhys & Elaine.
