I get them regularly. Hot baths are definitely used to relieve the lower back pain, but Not with salt. Maybe epsom salt ... but sounds like this was not epsom salt for baths.

She said it was an old wives tale and her mum and gran used to do it. Would be so funny if they got her mum on the stand to deny existence of this very painful sounding old wives tale.

Just to confirm, there is no recommendation of using salt to clear or ease UTI according to the NHS Website. In fact, NHS recommends to stay away from scented soap so as not to irritate further, I’d dread to bloody think what salt would do!

The only things I found whilst googling salt and UTIs was that a diet high in salt may contribute towards kidney stones. The only other thing I found was to use baking soda, but this was advised to be added to water and consumed.

I genuinely cannot believe I even googled all of this to be honest…

Salt in a bath maybe semi believable, Epsom salt baths would be what was expected though not normal table salt. Epsom salt baths can be recommended after child birth.

But ET was saying she used normal salt in the shower. It’s just odd and not believable, I hope the jury have picked up on this.

Oh I agree with you 100%. I’m a massive fan of Epsom salt baths, really helps after the gym and at that time of the month.

I’d have been more inclined to give her the benefit of the doubt if she has stated that she bathed or showered in salt water. Even if she stated she used table salt instead of Epsom salts or Himalayan salts. But she said she rubbed salt directly on to herself and that right there is just wild to me!

Then I thought, “hmmmm, lemme check if this actually might be some sort of homeopathic remedy.” Kind of like when I caught my daughter with a concoction of eggs, mayonnaise, coconut oil and rice plonked on her head (hair growth apparently…)

I can’t imagine scrubbing myself with salt for a UTI. I can’t understand how anyone would think that would help, if they know basic anatomy.

I don’t think anyone doubts that she used the salt to poison Arthur. I think it was more proving that her defence is straight from planet cuckoo. Salt baths I can see as feasible reason, rubbing straight salt on your lady parts however? Not a chance in hell!

Yes he does and ET saying she didnt drink that much while pregnant, she even abuses the children while in her womb. I hope TH shows more emotion and remorse than ET did on the stand
