I see maybe one mitigating factor and far more aggravating IMO
It's the fear re the justice system. We all know how unduly lenient sentences are dished out.
People get lesser sentences than they deserve a lot of the time.

Oh Jesus. :(

I have spent today catching up on Star Hobsons trial and just come back here to them. I’ve just sobbed that poor poor baby.

To me, before he says no one loves me, it sounds like he is calling for Blake, his uncle. That video is harrowing, he doesn’t look like the same child.

Oh prison is too good for that pair.

Audio
How on earth can anyone - especially someone who is themselves a parent - just stand by and record that. Any normal person would be rushing to comfort the child, I mean jeez even her little boy tried to comfort Arthur, but she did nothing. It sounded to me like the poor little mite had been sobbing for a long time by that point too. Such a deliberate, wicked act. She clearly absolutely hated that poor sweet boy.

Video
Poor Arthur looks completely broken by this point. Very skinny, weak, obviously in a tremendous amount of pain and really struggling in so many ways. Anyone with half a brain can see he needs urgent medical attention

Heartbreaking to see how this poor precious little boy's life changed once his father got involved with Tustin. How many times do we see this scenario, in child abuse/death cases, where everything's fine until the new partner comes on the scene then the child begins to suffer and eventually ends up being killed.

Rest in peace darling Arthur, no-one can hurt you now sweetheart

Yup, it's like the desire for a family overrides everything else. People should take the time to introduce new adults and children to one another slowly. Not just rock up at someone's house with your bags, and expect it to go well.
And there's far too much trust and responsibility given to new partners. The short time between Arthur and ET meeting, and the sudden abuse on her part, plus THs family voicing their concerns should have put an end to that relationship.
And you're absolutely right, no normal person would record that. It does sound like he's been sobbing for a long time. I believe she enjoyed it, the crying, the screaming in frustration, the beatings, the power to make him eat/ drink his salt laced food, watching his face as her kids laughed and played and ate McDonald's. She enjoyed watching this little boy being broken.

Aw look, hes a little dote, how could you even dream of hurting him in any way.
What a lovely photo!
He looks absolutely sweet and innocent in it.
His smile is beautiful.
I think he is a copy of his mother.

Surely this constitutes a whole life tariff?! No matter how horrific I imagined this to be, the reality of this is 100x worse!!! God bless you Arthur :(
I cannot watch it.
Nor listen to audio.
Sorry.
It is not good for my psyche.
I work with kids.

I really wish I hadn’t… I’ll never forget what I’ve seen or heard today, it’s burned into my minds eye forever.

Could she have been told yesterday that CPS are pushing for a whole life order and that’s what caused her “poor health”? Is this why things are being released early? Or Am I deluding myself with wishful thinking…….
I think her mental state was poor from the beginning since arrest.
Do you remember her banging her head on the surface in her cell?
She is not cut mentally to survive in prison.
MOO

I think that was just to test her claim Arthur deliberately killed himself.

By the way - once, when I was in high school I decided to work in the Bakery shop during my holidays.
The first day I wanted to dazzle my boss and stood behind the counter for 8 hours.
And guess what?
After my shift ended I had to call a taxi b/c I couldnt walk!

The pain from standing in 1 place for hours was excruciating.
I spent the rest of the day in bed.
My poor parents were terrified, they wanted to call ambulance!

Standing in one position for hours is a torture.
