Eyebrows are different. The 1999 sketch shows a man with thin eyebrows, the 2002 image shows a man with thicker eyebrows. I don’t know a lot about grooming habits of men so I have no idea if it would be common for a guy to get his eyebrows plucked/waxed. The lips are very similar, pretty much a match I would say. Eyes are different however, ‘99 sketch has the eyelids more depressed, 2002 sketch has the lids more lifted. Also the angles are different. Honestly I think they are of different men. I might be wrong though but to my eye they don’t look all the same. Maybe it’s my art background speaking but the 2002 man and the “Batman rapist” aren’t the same person in my opinion.

Edit: Also I have to mention the jawline. “Batman rapist” has an elongated head, the 2002 sexual assaulter has a square, short jawline. Yep. Definitely two different people.

Hi, I’m new here and I’ve never been on one of these things before. You might find this interesting though.

I’ve got a question about this Batman rapist thing. Do any of you think if a person who potentially did these rapes could be everything you’ve said (now mid 50’s, slim build, a serial rapist (in prison now), had kids which work around the dates mentioned, job could’ve taken him to those areas easily, loved Batman!, I have plenty of evidence of that, murals on his kids walls, asking me to make him a Batman costume etc.. BUT he was definitely’sex addict type but didn’t have the fetish for tights. Could it be possible that stopping the tights fetish was necessary to not get caught? I’m so sure it was him but police didn’t want to know due to the m/o of other rapes. I’m also not a lunatic but I feel he was capable of worse crimes.

I spoke with them and told them to contact A&S police (even though IMO it's probably not a likely lead if the man involved is a convicted rapist and already on the national DNA database).

One of the reasons why I remember this particular guy in the pub 28years ago is because quite frankly he was a very frightening individual, I haven’t led a pampered life and I’ve met all sorts of people and I remember seeing the 99 photo fit in 99 and instantly thinking oh God that looks just like the guy in the pub.
All bar one’ was quite a nice pub and I was sitting quite close to where this person was , I was probably about 10 foot away from him almost facing him, they had long bench seats and long tables in that pub at that time and I remember just wanting to get as far away as possible from him.
And I know that he may be absolutely nothing to do with the BR, he more than likely isn’t anything to do with a BR but in case people do wonder why I remember so far back it’s because I don’t recall ever being as uncomfortable around another individual in a pub in my entire life and I spent a lot of time in pubs. At the time I used to go out most nights and I only saw him on two occasions, like I said might be absolutely nothing at all, but anyway, in case people wonder why I’m remembering back so well that’s the reason.

As I mentioned earlier, I'm not convinced by the 1999 composite, as the man was described as only looking in his mid 20s. That's very young for an abduction rapist who has already been active for eight years. Rapists who take victims to secondary locations tend to be somewhat 'older' offenders (although of course there are some exceptions to the rule).

IMO the 1994 composite is probably a better likeness, although I might be wrong...

The victim of the last known attack in 2000 noticed a scar under the perp's mouth.

There doesn't seem to have been a composite made from the 2000 attack, but the victim described him as around 5ft 9 tall, with blue eyes.

What are the details of the 2002 assault please?

The e-fit from 2002 is almost certainly unrelated as the offender committed a sexual assault in Worthing.

He was also described as being of "Asian" appearance, so highly unlikely to be the same perp.

I just found it interesting how IMO the 2002 e-fit from the Worthing perp, looked similar to the 1999 e-fit of the Batman Rapist.

The Geography of course doesn't work, but it did make me wonder whether the Batman Rapist was actually confirmed as having been Caucasian?

IMO, the 1999 composite of the Batman rapist could be of an Asian male.

Unlikely, but still possible IMO

It says the 2002 attacker was mid 30s and Asian. A lot of police composites don't really match the accompanying witness descriptions. The thin, white looking Delroy Grant composite being perhaps the classic example.

The BR was almost certainly a white male (based on various witnesses, and him having blue eyes) although I suppose Asian heritage isn't completely out of the question. A very small percentage of Asians have blue eyes.

Coloured contact lenses were also popular in the 90s and 00s, although IMO that's probably giving this miscreant too much credit.

I agree but I think they will get a match if and when the perp (or his offspring) enter the DNA database.

Christopher Hampton would probably still be free in the Melanie Road case, if his daughter hadn't got arrested for a domestic incident.

The Road case took advanced familial testing though, which doesn't seem to have been attempted yet in the Batman case.

I was very pleased when I heard that Christopher Hampton had been caught, that was one of the then unsolved murders that was talked about when I lived in Bath.

I think driving was a way to disorientate the person and to confuse people and its control. Its risky of the highest order anything could have happened. I dont think he was a cop would a cop really take that risk? I think the red light district women of the night know him i feel he defo used sex workers. He would be mid 50s to 70s now. I doubt hes in prison i feel he either died or had a family or went to prison and wasnt connected by luck.

I don’t recall there being a red light district in Bath, certainly there was in Bristol, in Stokes Croft from what I remember I worked there for a period of time in that area and it was always pretty hap-hazard
