if the friends think, and have said that, its the person from hale and its the police who've ruled him out, then they clearly have no reason to say the friends aren't cooperating, but they do, so it can't be that...they must have another reason to say they're not cooperating

I also think the police should cross check the watery spot, just in case someone has told the so called psychic to reveal it, without anyone becoming aware who has given the information

I fully agree with the second half of your post
But her friends probably simply told the police to check the people she met on holiday but also because they kept seeing each other or c visiting them and vice versa

If one or more of her male 'friends' locally suggested that their friendship was purely platonic but police discovered they were being lied to e.g. in March/April 2015, that would be a serious lie because it would put a completely different slant on the case and could be construed as perjury. No wonder Malyn was fuming.

Lying is not proof of guilt !
I believe them when they say “ we know nothing”
Probably don’t really want to admit it but clearly CL kept everyone in the dark re new relationships especially if they were very new !

I can see what you're getting at popejohn...they thought it was someone shed met. on holiday but didn't know him as the man from hale.

well, they must have kept up with. anything that takes the focus away from them, so I dont see why they haven't said to the police since then....we think it could be the person she met on holiday that people are calling the man fr0m hale.

and the argument previously mentioned still holds true for very new boyfriends...it seems to me that the police have something that makes them thinks the friends are holding out on them...that can't be the case if its a boyfriend they dont know about.

i dont know how many of the people who originally said they. didn't know claudia have admitted they did.

the police said at the time the majority had spouses or partners...I guess there'll be some who just dont want to get mixed up in the enquiry.

but again to my original point....it seems the friends are holding something back, so, apart from them, whether the person has admitted to knowing claudia or not, it must be someone they wish to protect or someone they're afraid of

Or someone they know nothing about !

Do we have an MSM source for that?

maybe the friends dont know anything about the men from hale, but I think the police have an instinct for knowing when people aren't telling them everything, and this is what im getting at.....the friends have refused to cooperate further and, as ive previously said, whatever reason they're doing this for, they're still doing it....you may not agree, but I think most people would, that they know more than they're saying.

I know the police, and anyone in any. job, can make mistakes, but, in any job, you develop an instinct for when something isn't quite right.

ive got a friend who teaches 14 to 18 year olds and she reckons that, if she asks a pupil to read out their homework, if she. was in the mood, she could pick out someone who hadn't done it....even if its someone who's usually very conscientious.

similarly, pupils who have no idea about a subject can sense if a teacher doesn't know their stuff

its down to experience, I suppose...body language etc...or in. the case were looking at, also people refusing to cooperate

They might ‘know more than they are saying’ but not necessarily pertaining to CL being harmed !
It seems the police wanted to know the inside out of a ducks behind ! Which would , in turn tell her friends and accused that the police then didn’t have a single clue !
Btw they do now imo

Let’s not also forget one suspect was put under surveillance, his phone calls monitored, they established where he had been from this and other info Such as the taxi company he used etc. He was arrested for perverting the course of justice and the line of questioning was where had he been on the Tuesday night as he went to great lengths to point out his innocence and how they knew where he had been (the night of claudia’s alleged all nighters)... If they did this to him then undoubtedly they have similar evidence from the other suspects too. I wonder what the sat nav data showed

Did he not state you know which taxi rank I used and where I went that night, and also wasn’t it the reason the 4 became suspects and why he only received a pcj on the info he provided?

It looks like the police did go in like a bull in a china shop and antagonised witnesses who happen to be regular pub drinkers and sharing their police experiences!
Some, probably started ridiculing the investigation plus telling each other what was being said in private interviews !
