I dont either, popejohn, but it seems as though nothing is straightforward....I think, if kir is right, a lot of the cctv is meant for insiders rather than the general public....Im not sure how it would . all be interconnected, though

I dont know how happy any of us can be with any of the cctv, but, kir, are you reasonably happy that all the cctv purporting to show claudia walking home is really all from the same afternoon

Im never pleased when I see cctv posted without a date and time stamps @cortina but if the police present it as a specific day then I work on it on that basis too.

ive just come back from a. couple of days away and im very tired so I won't have time to look at. things in detail but if, for example, the police know that someone was walking with. her and they haven't said so or have deleted people, I can only assume there's more to this than cctv designed to jog the general publics memory...it might work but if I, for example as a casual observer, thought id seen someone who looked like claudia, id have thought....no it couldn't have been her, she was with someone.

there's always a chance id. have gone to the police, anyway, but the chances would be reduced.

so were these doctored images designed to send the message to people....we know you were there and you know we know....but, then again, the police didn't know or might not have known who they were...so how much of a frightener would they. be

In my opinion yes..
Police also use footage like these as a 'trigger event'
The person would be placed under police surveillance in the hope the trigger event would unnerve him and he would contact his associates involved in the crime

im sitting here, nowhere near York....I dont know any of the. main players, and, as far as I know I dont know anyone in a drugs gang.

I can look at the cctv, I can try and figure things out, but unless someone from the inside gives something away, were stuck.

or is this a way of maintaining pressure and keeping it going somehow

I think our best hope is of going through things thoroughly and looking at other crimes cropping up to see if we can figure out a link the police might miss

@cortina you have a canny nack of answering your own question in your posts its not a criticism I like it
Like you I live nowhere near York, dont know any of the main players and I def dont know anyone in a drugs gang. This is a positive as this will enable us to look at the friends, family, lovers, colleagues, associates, thugs, criminals and police objectively.

So what do we know.. the locals are too afraid to speak up most likely because the person/persons they fear still has a presence on the streets
The police know a lot more than they are willing to divulge due to any proceedings they may wish to bring in the future

Where does that leaves us.. not sitting around waiting for one of those two things to bear fruit for sure.

Im looking to find out exactly what the police know..because in my opinion they know an awful lot! and if they know that you know what they know they will sit up and take you seriously.

If people and police think it’s drugs related it would be even more urgent to find out who it is before he does it again .

For my part, I do not believe it has anything to do with drugs at all. I believe that's a complete red herring.

I absolutely believe it has to do with personal relationships, involving people known to CL and the Nags.

hong kong p...I think it could be a mixture of drugs and a personal motive, but we dont really know so we have to keep an open mind and just see what we can get out of the evidence. we've got and then look to the future to see what the motive really was..

I keep examining the cctv, kir, and I can definitely see the dark man running as if chasing something...as for manhandling the lighter man, ill need to look at them again and again because I think a bit of clever editing has been. done there.

I can't find the man possibly with a woman you mention. as disappearing...can you give me a clue as to when that happens

whoever took claudia must have known that it was going to cause great publicity....this would not be great news for a drugs. gang who saw Heworth as their local patch....for a travelling or out of town lot it would not be such. a problem.

of course, I may be wrong about drugs activity going on at the time, but I dont think so and I think that rules out a personal motive for anyone outside a drugs gang...not impossible, but the coincidence is very great and I dont know if you'd. be able to do it with all that stuff going. on. around you.

so id say....the Heworth lot if. they were being rather thick and I think their suppliers would have taken care of at least one of them, or if something. went really badly wrong...eg claudia caught up between 2 gangs or someone really lost their temper...or another gang, which. could have been personal or drugs related or both, or again an accident....it is possible, of course that the Heworth suppliers were behind it....again either. personal or drugs. related, but, again either they were thick or arrogant to do it slap bang in a main area of activity...must be missing something
