keep it. real....no, I dont think claudia was the victim of a wife or girlfriend, whether they did it themselves or via a third party, but I still feel its ,more likely than a random snatch.

there's somehow too much context going on at the same. time....does that make sense...of course you can't rule anything out, but id put a random snatch near the bottom of the list

if a wife or girlfriend did it, either themselves or via a. third party, id. say they certainly had helpers to clear it up efficiently

Random snatch bound to leave behind some sort of evidence I would think, witness, dna, cctv or something, got to have been planned to some extent I reckon

Planned snatch rather than random

yes, perhaps kir...I really dont have an opinion on that one way or the other....but im not thinking of a snatch on her way to work.

maybe a snatch or maybe someone with claudia simply losing their temper....I dont know

  • #486
A person carrying out a random snatch would I think not stop at only 1,if you are mad enough to snatch a complete stranger and get away with it I would think it highly likely you would do it again, and until you get caught probably

  • #487
oh, great andyboy....wish id thought of that as a reason

Im not sure if you are familiar with the Mark Anthony Ford Thompson case.. We previously have discussed him here

  • #489
im not familiar with that case but ive come back because I realised it could be said that someone could have randomly snatched claudia who had snatched people before and or did so afterwards but is now in prison without having been linked to Claudius case.

I shall look up the case you've mentioned....but i dont think that happened here...but. im open to being convinced, even though I think there were too many things going on

In the last few days I’ve been asking myself what is the point in discussing this case to death unless it can help to get justice for CL and her family. And also what sleuths can realistically do, besides coming up with theories which Malyn are not interested in, assuming that NYP know who’s responsible and just need more evidence or crucial info, e.g.
1) body remains;
2) a confession or a credible witness statement of someone who has been on the receiving end of a confession;
3) a recording of an incriminating conversation between the perps (or on social media);
4) DNA evidence (not sure of what);
5) a missing item of Claudia’s (rucksack, hair straighteners or phone) with her DNA on it. Highly unlikely but some killers keep souvenirs;
6) phone data analysed with advanced techniques;
7) Claudia turning up alive (the most unlikely scenario).

Can you think of anything else? And how could sleuths help with any of the above or other?

8) The identification of the people and or vehicles made in the appeals by the police and posted on the NYP website.

There is a specific reason why the police are interested in identifying these, most likely they have more info about them that they havent released publicly.
If fear in the community is the reason locals are not coming forward to identify them by stepping outside that community and appealing to the online community confirmation of identity could be achieved.

yes, I think a lot of it was down to the booze...but then, why does someone a long way past the age of teenage rebellion feel the need to get smashed all the time

Low self esteem?

I was still getting hammered at 35 because of ongoing low social self confidence at that age.

in answer to the last couple of posts

I think kir is right, that you never know if someone may come forward anonymously here and you never know if something said here can spark something off....its a long shot and it may seem pointless, but the chance is always there.

and to an owl....yes, this happened with a member of my family....unfortunately, he never kicked it and spent his life in the company of a nags type crowd where, I think, he felt at ease...and only then when he was drunk....people used to ask us all the time...whats a nice and clever man doing with that kind of life.....and we certainly aren't what you'd call an aspirational family

Well, they feel very good among their drinking pals, and often at home there is waiting someone in vain until one day she/he (mostly "she") is finally fed up. Ask me. Therefore I don't have much sympathy or understanding for this way of spending free time/life. Nevertheless, no 35yo deserves to disappear under suspect circumstances and probably got murdered, who preferred this way of life, which I don't like. I want Claudia's fate to be clarified and the perp/s to be condemned. Absolutely!

Yes her family/ friends confirmed low self esteem.

There is always the chance her Samsung D900 is still being used or in a draw somewhere because people are not sure of the private data that a mobile retains.
I believe the contents of a similar rucksack were seen close by the uni.
Someone could have stolen ( by finding ) the phone.And not aware who the owner was .
It is also possible the perpetrator gave or sold it to someone else !
Old phones often end up being used by much older people .

Thanks KIR. I nearly included no.8 but I wasn’t sure if anyone now recognising allyway man would be believed. Unless it was indeed AC and his wife admits providing him with a false alibi that night/morning. But if the CCTV footage became crystal clear to show exactly what was going, then it would certainly either rule in or out a lot of things.

I agree Pope. Some of the belongings might still exist. Again, a long shot unfortunately.

Sounds familiar. Inherited from their children (who hopefully didn't steal it of course). ;)
