Thank you. No adverts on either of the links.
Me neither. I'm wondering what may be in the report that people dont want to be seen?

This is just the attitude that makes my blood boil.. If police remove the drug and criminal activity in towns and villages the Big Fry would loose their networks . A NO GO area to me suggests police criminality and where this exists it should be dealt with in the same way as any other crime.
We've seen how drugs and crime have been allowed to filter into society and become accepted as the norm devasting peoples everyday lives. The people running these criminal activities have been given status on the street so now we have a situation where you fear these criminal because of the power they have. Along the way police have lost the respect of the law abiding communities they were supposed to be protecting because they see that these criminals are being allowed to operate. Allowing these activities to catch the big fish just doesnt wash because you will always have another big fish to take over... Its a supply and demand situation take away the demand and the supplers cant operate. If you are policeforce you police your patch if you have drug or criminal activity on your patch then you identify it and remove it bringing those people to justice which in turn deters other people entering into the same crimal activities, if you dont you are not doing your job.
NO GO area should be a term used by the criminals not the police!

Just my opinion
I can’t agree with you more but society Should help the police and make all drugs legal !
I had to ring 111 recently and one of the questions was “ Have you taken an illegal substance in the last week !?”
As if I’m going to say yes if I did !

Most people have virus protection on their devices..
It depends on how you have set up the settings as to wether you get a notification of warning pop up on your screen.
Just run a virus scan on it before opening it
the trouble is it’s the very first time I had that happen to me and I open every single link ever shared on WS ( Claudia )

In the Express Newspaper article we heard that several of Claudia's friends told her family she was involved with an expoliceman but they didnt know his name or rank.
In the same article North Yorkshire Police said they are were of the speculation but have said there has never been any substantiated evidence that she was involved with an officer.
Martin Dales the family spokesman said “The information comes from reliable sources and we have no reason to believe it is untrue.
So my reasoning is even if they didnt have even so much as a name or nickname if several of her friends knew about him they would most likely have had conversations with CL about him or sitings of her with him.
Think about the conversations you have with your friends about a new boy/girlfriend.
In what context did the conversation arise and how did it get round to the subject of his occupation.
Perhaps theres more on file that we are privvy too.
If he was an expoliceman what were the reasons he left the force?
NYP said it was speculation that she was involved an ex officer and theyve never been able to substantiate it but I would like to hear more from the friends who knew she did and were willing to come forward to let the family know.

I have posted this link before but here it is again
Did Claudia have a secret police lover?
I’m interested in the bit where it says ‘ she texted a friend about the mystery boyfriend ‘
Would she have texted David and also told him when at work ?

Did anyone esle notice further down the Express article is says

The search was not related to an appeal earlier this month to trace a “mystery boyfriend” with whom Miss Lawrence was with until 4.30am on March 16 last year.
She texted a friend about the man but he has not come forward.

Sorry PJ our posts seem to have crossed.... yes its interesting is it a slip up by the reporter of the Express or have we stumbled over a detail that appears not to have been given out publicly before

It’s another good question.
But perhaps the reporter was misled On purpose
And police would known who she texted the info to

Surely these now updated and enhanced cctv stills of alleyman will enable those who know him to identify him without much doubt.

but will they come forward or are people still in 'fear' .. It must be a pretty powerful fear if its still casting a shadow after 11 years

That article has an awful lot of editorializing in it. From the article:

Claudia was an attractive woman who spent many nights of the week drinking and socialising with older men; it is highly likely her killer was known to her. It is also very probable that her killer was motivated by extreme jealousy, or the rage of unrequited love.

I still think that it's entirely possible there was funny money business going on involving some of the pub's patrons. Claudia probably knew things they'd rather she didn't.

And after this long, it's quite amazing all this secrecy continues.

MOO

I hope and pray that they find the courage, perhaps now it's not easy to be in denial as anyone who knows this man will recognise him. Fear has run through this entire case alongside probably self preservation and denial.

Yes it does express opinions @MrsWatson, yet they are at least supported by logical reasoning linked to factual evidence so it deserves some credit for this.
You have put forward your own reasonable assumption which acknowledges the significance of the pub in this case, if only as a base for the key players. You are wise to follow this line of inquiry since police have strongly implied, by their intent to charge 4 men who are known to have frequented the pub, that further evidence exists (which has not been made available to the public) and they have been wilfully obstructed by the code of silence that has beset this case.

Who says people don’t want to see the report ? And who are these people ?
People on here ? The police ? Her friends ? Her family?
Genuinely curious

Very eloquently put !

I fully agree with you, yozzer.

fear is understandable, but I hope something can overcome it and I still hope that something might trickle out during other investigations.

im not saying that a person who lent claudia money for dans present is responsible, but whatever dan has heard, im sure he'd dismiss the Facebook posts as banter...whether correctly so or out. of. fear I dont know.

unfortunately, I can't see anyone coming straight out and going to the police....but it can be odd how these things come out.

if I meet anyone from Claudius patch, im going to buy them a few strong. drinks, in the hope that they'll blab...but I doubt they're allowed. out

Yes I did did she text or did she tell or perhaps both? To different people ?

I think her father would have lent her the money, wouldn't he...or are we back to a present for dan

according to the report, the police think that alley man is a local and they're appealing to the public for identification.

the police intensely interviewed the four and, presumably, all the local men of interest....so if they'd thought alley man was one of them, couldn't they. have claimed identification and put it to the test.

im not putting this very well, but what I mean is, if a local had come forward and said they knew who alley man was, wouldn't there have had to have been some kind of. expert attestation of the ccv footage, and, if the police knew who alley man was, couldn't the. same criteria have applied.

in other words, do we assume that alley man was not one of the men they'd interviewed
If the police suspected or were told that the allyman was one of the four they could have for example secretly videod all four from relatively same distance using the very same equipment that captured the imagery

no, I dont think for one minute that hes one of the four but the police seem to think hes a local....if this is so, then he either slipped the police interviewing net or the police haven't got a photo or interview footage of him and hes keeping his head down.

but I think at least one of the four knows who he is.

the implication seems to be that the police have more cctv of him...thats why im inclined to believe hes someone who visits there....say a drug dealer or a lender...but who doesn't actually live there....may be just a friend of a local who visits quite a bit and is helping with the clear up
