Good [emoji117]First I've heard of a horse too. So if Claudius car was off the road a while, how did she get to Malton to tend to it?

Found this: 'In her spare time, she enjoyed riding; when her own much-loved horse died last year, it was older than she was.' Perhaps her mum was reminiscing about earlier times?

Thanks for the great article!
This item from the link suggests, imo, that the walk to work was dangerous in some way, is there a particular reason for that?
"Joan Lawrence also spoke and touched upon a subject that tortured both parents: their fears Claudia that had been taken on her walk to work, after their attempts to persuade her to use a car failed. "I was worried about her and offered her the money for a taxi," said Mrs Lawrence. "But she wouldn't take it. She liked walking for the exercise."
I think, Claudia's way to University was 3mi (!!) and in this time of the year much too dark for her to walk alone.
"Gone", the book:
On Claudia's way to her work place (Melrosegate) there was seen a driver in a white, old, dirty, rusty van who intended to speak to a female jogger. Another witness had had the same experience, but the van had the wrong colour: burgundy, I think. The jogger had seen the white old van several times before Claudia vanished. After her disappearance she had not seen this van on Melrosegate.
I also feel due to the secretive life Claudia is alleged to have lived, then it's very possible the perpetrator could equally, be either a man or a woman.
Great post and I agree with all your suggestions. Do you think a woman could have dealt with the whole thing alone or would she have needed the physical strength of a male accomplice?
Walmgate Stray, a year or so after Claudia went missing this appeared in the press. I wouldn't want to be walking that path at night or early morning, I'm surprised Claudia did.

I have asked before, but does anyone know if police actually searched this area when Claudia first went missing?
I can't see anything to say they did, maybe a local will know.
Thanks, Mrs Map! Whereabouts were the 2 morning sightings on that map? Melrosegate Bridge and cant remember the other one. Just so we can see whether the police are likely to have searched that area based on those sightings.
If I understand what you mean, there could be verbal fighting of a couple because of cheating "male" with Claudia?
Why does the description of the woman correspond exactly the look of Claudia? Or was the person merely thus shown in the film?
Why aren't then 2 cars (one of wife, one of partner) seen on the road? Why only one car with open passenger door?
I am trying to follow your thoughts. :blushing:
Im way behind I know, just catching up
In this video

As the video starts, if you look to the right of the woman, there is a red car parked down the side street. The back of it can be seen, or it looks it on my phone anyway..
Or, going back to the original scenario of cheating husband, then maybe the female was the driver of the car with the open door. She stopped the car and got out there to wait for Claudia walking up, the husband is the passenger and gets out the passenger side, leaving the door open as he does. He chases her over the road etc etc

I think that's a re construction video so the car seen as the video starts could be camera crew.
From Germany, it's possible the second car was the hatchback seen braking on cctv going past/slowing down at Claudia's house.
