The phone
Was it kept for a little longer in case texts came in during the morning that had no reply been received would appear strange and then send out an instant look for Claudia.
Only turning the phone off once they were happy that they had concealed all that they needed to?

Or

Could they not find it and only turned it off once located?

It has been suggested in the past that the text which came through from Cyprus at 9.10pm (ish?) may have been the trigger for whatever events unfolded. E.g. someone with CL saw it & in a fit of jealousy, a row erupted.
If this were the scenario, how would that fit with the sighting of man in the alley at 7pm earlier that evening? It would move his role from being planner to potentially lover checking to see if his usual route into CLs home (round the back) was unlocked.
You can also understand the police interest in the white astra van since it was parked between 9 and half 9 - the time when CL went off the radar.

I am beginning to think more now that Dark and Light man were a pair acting together otherwise it is an unlikely coincidence that they were seen together in both CCTV footage both performing the same function.
One crossing Heworth place entrance and walking along Heworth Road. The other disappearing around the back.

They met up in Nags and as it was their regular haunt they were not out of place.

I also think that the guy seen at her door a few days prior was staying with her and based on her body language when he arrived she was keen to see him but didn't want others to know he was calling. (She looked both ways before letting him in). It was a surprise because he had only just rang her for her to let him in (both on phones when she answered the door)

Perhaps she wasn't the target but he was and she got in the way.

They chose their moment and exited the Nags when both would be asleep or in bed.

Of course because many people go missing and never receive the profile that Claudia did, there may have been two people to dispose of?

I don't believe that this would be a crime of passion (Jealousy) as it had more of a pre meditated "Hit" about it.(Checking out or getting key whilst she was still alive)

I'm not even sure if Claudia wrote that Text? Could have been someone putting off contact?
"If you dont hear from me this week its because I have Back to Back Shifts"-Sort of put off?

This text has always seemed a bit odd to me. Iirc, didnt CL have a pre-planned meeting at the Nags(?) with Suzy the night she didnt turn up for
work? It was then that Suzy contacted Peter Lawrence.

If so, why did CL not also text Suzy the same message? Or why make the plan in the first place?

It seems odd not to. Or to text Jen that, then go into pub to meet Suzy would just be bizarre?

Yes
Would suggest that there was a bit of rivalry between the these girls if text was from Claudia?
But we all know the saying of "two is company and three a crowd"
You make a very good point though @Spy Versus Spy

Hair Dye
There is been suggestions that Claudia was dying the hair of someone else recently?

If she was dying someone's hair in the night if her disappearance then I'm sure that the brushes would hold DNA.
Unless of course the hair dye was staged

Indeed. According to SC they were planning a holiday:
Claudia arranged by text to meet Cooper in their local on Thursday evening: both women wanted to plan a holiday to Greece.
Patrick Barkham: Missing Claudia Lawrence - Ten days of helplessness 28 March 2009.

Yet according to JK:
The best friend of Claudia Lawrence has revealed that the missing chef was desperate for a holiday and had booked one just days before she vanished. As police began searching drains, sewers and a river near her home, Jen King told how Claudia had been planning an Easter trip to Cyprus with her. Jen, 24, said: "She had been working really hard and had some holiday booked. She asked if I wanted to go. We were both really excited."
Missing Claudia Lawrence's last words to pal revealed
29 March 2009.

Confusing.

I guess Claudia wanted a party holiday with JK and thought that SC wouldn't enjoy it. There was a 20 year age difference between JK and SC, wasnt there?

I think they were JK 24, CL 35, SC 44 so yes you're right.

Yes I read recently that JK had texted CL first so her last text was a response to it, I believe.

Was this vehicle disposed of and has it been seen after 2009 as its MOT ran out, had very high mileage and could have been taken to a scrap yard??? I don't see it on Google again.
If it was scrapped would there ever be any chance of anything inside f the car ever being discovered again? Who owned the car pre to it being scrapped and do we know the time it ceased to exist?

Well, If the 3 girls were a close unit, you wouldn't arrange to meet one and then say that you were too busy to see the other for 2 days and so thats why I think the text re working 12 shifts and no life is a suspicious one to say the least.
If the meet with Suzy had gone ahead as planned and Claudia had sent Jen the "I'm Busy" text then surely Jen would be right in being offended that Claudia had time for one yet not the other of her two closest friends.

Thats why I don't think Claudia sent the I'm busy text. Surely Jen and Suzie would also be suspicious of such a text?
Whoever sent it was buying time to make sure that anyone worried about lack of contact would know there was a reason.

N.B. 2 days should read 12 days

Especially arranging to meet in the Nags where even if J wasnt in at the time, she would surely hear , even inadvertantly from others, that the other 2 had been in together?

Yes-That text was sent from Perp (S). Perps wanted to hang onto her phone to see if there was any "traffic" had to turn it off though as soon as they knew they had safely done the "deed".

If Claudias body had been disposed of by leaving it in the Volvo and as they (car and Claudia) had come to end of life.
Would this have been the most undetectable way of disposing of a body-Any experts here?

I always feel that a river dump or burying in foundations could be riskier for the Perps as a search could reveal this.
Also, the NYP police comment regarding lack of cooperation stunting the investigation.
If they know that the body can never be found then they are pretty safe to stay quiet?

And if Claudia was to end her days as a bit of scrap metal-Who would benefit from this ?
