It's not really about where the phone is now, it's about how it ended up there.

If it was IN the bin I would say there was foul play - Corrie didn't have it in his hand when he rounded that corner so it's unlikely it was thrown away by him by accident. Had he left it in the doorway, or had he been mugged? A random, innocent person wouldn't just throw a random phone in a bin. I don't know where the mugging rumours came from, but it might make perfect sense that someone grabbed it from him while he was in the doorway (maybe at 3:08 when he had it in his hand) and, realising it wasn't of much value, they threw it in the nearest bin as they ran off. To me though, Corrie didn't look in fight or fright mode on the 2nd CCTV, he had his hands in is pockets which doesn't suggest someone who was expecting trouble, I think if you'd just been mugged you'd be looking less casual about it. I think he was just desperate for a wee.

If it was ON the bin there's a chance he put it down and forgot about it.

If it was found by the binman (or anyone else) and taken then tossed away, they needs to own up.

The reason for it being in that bin lorry is pertinent to what might have happened to Corrie, regardless of where they both are now. But then it might not have ever been anywhere near the bin lorry, the binman or anything to do with the bins at all. It might just be coincidence that it followed roughly the same route as the bin lorry and at roughly the same time. It might have been left in the doorway and someone heading home to BMills picked it up and later chucked it. It apparently didn't move from 4:30ish and lost power at 8.

Anyway, that's this mornings thoughts and ramblings by me. I still think he'll be found somewhere near that roundabout.

I'm wondering if being a consensus individual he threw his kebab paper in the paper bin and NOT the general waste for obvious reasons along with his phone? Remember him eating his kebab, dropping something (sauce packet/fork/PHONE?) in the first CCTV? Perhaps he put it in top off his kebab paper to keep an eye on it ringing after the 0308 call and has binned the lot? Phone does a round trip of Suffolk via BM mast area and Corrie has no alternative but to walk home. Remember, by this time he can't confirm the previously (arranged lift?) with his friends or arrange another taxi lift.....HE HAS NO PHONE!
I'm leaning towards your theory now. :/

The tip location part is fact, AJ Thompson are owned by Ellgia who have a corporate contract with Biffa, Great Blakenham site is opposite the counties only Waste to Energy station that Biffa use.

In in relation to the weighing issue, dry recyclables in particular paper and card have a considerable resale value (£70 per tonne) however they must be baled in to tonne bales to gain this value, Biffa do not have that facility at regional depots or tipping points. Because of the value; Biffa offer a free collection to either a) acquire business or b) subsidise costly corporate contracts such as Greggs. Therefore Biffa collected their own property that day and so did not need to weigh or charge based on weight.

Hollow Road- Bury Collections- A1101 to Barton Mills- A11 to Newmarket then home on A14

Biffa have contracts with many local firms who simply take the paper/card, pay say £30 per tonne, bale it and then send on to China. Worth noting that there is no paper mill anywhere in the UK.

If you know who the bins belong to (company) then you can probably find a route either pre or post Short Breckland as they collect specific contracts per wagon.

But he didn't have anything in his hand on CCTV2. He had nothing to throw in a bin.

I also don't think there was a prearranged lift, I think the police or family would have said "Corrie was supposed to meet X friend at X time but didn't show up"

My feeling continues to be that he was in the bin and that the bin weight is just Biffa not wishing to expose their corporate tactics. I believe he managed to escape the lorry at its next stop at Barton Mills from where he walks, wounded for a while ultimately collapsing in the woodland around there. I don't buy in to the forensic testing of the vehicle or the sniffer dogs because he would need to be in contact with the vehicle and not just its contents.

I think Biffa would have had to show police the electronic data for that lorry. I don't think it would be faked. If Biffa held anything back it would mean serious damage to their reputation if it ended up that they'd interfered with an investigation this important that's about the life of a human being; corporate secrets have to come second to human life.

I believe the load is what has been stated (less than 15kg) and I think if it was a recyclables load that a phone would have been discovered when the load was sorted manually to ensure that only paper goes into the ton bale for transport to the next step in the recycling process. They don't want a mobile phone or plastic or other types of contamination to go into a pulping machine.

That would make some sense, especially if the bin was weighed on arrival at depot and he'd already got out. But how did he get in the bin?

He didn't need a sleep, he was functioning, he was sobering up but probably cold and fed up. His car was parked a few minutes away so if he'd wanted "shelter" rather than going home he'd have headed there. If he was in trouble (ie was hurt or worried, or lost phone, wallet, keys) he'd have either set off home or gone back to Mama Mia for help.

He took pride in his appearance and was wearing white jeans. He was savvy and everyone knows not to get into bins, we've all heard the horror stories. He wasn't stupid, he wasn't silly drunk, I doubt he climbed in of his own accord. Did someone put him in a bin?

Personally, I don't think he was ever in that bin. But who knows - the info on this case aint exactly been reliable!!

I take your points but even I am suggesting that neither Corrie or the phone were in the bin when/if it was weighed (at the point of exit tipping). Bin weights are an aggregation typically hence the collection by contract not by route. This would also exonerate Biffa.

Landfill has has been returned to the owners because they suspect that he has escaped the bin wagon somewhere on A1101 or A11, areas that are notorious dead zones for phone signal. Try driving from Fornham to Barton Mills and check your signal, hence why he was unable to signal for help.

i think he just climbs in the bin, that's what the look is about on CCTV. Cold, still only 330AM, not sober enough to drive or be in the car (parked publicly), thinks "what are the chances of a bin collection".....

Aren't the bins weighed when emptied into the Lorry not at the end of of the journey.
I think bins and rubbish tips are a massive coincedence and red herring.

I still think this is either an accident and Corrie will turn up on the route between Bury and Honington (to me highest probability) or an abduction and Corrie will sadly turn up Remembrance Sunday.

Yet slept in slept in a doorway......

More to the point, how and when did he get out? The hoppers are clearly closed and effectively sealed when the loading mechanism is not in use.

Now that....sounds like an informative and credible comment. Thankyou. Can you shed light on the 11kgs statement by the police?

On general waste, on recyclables no.

I don't believe that Short Breckland was the last collection.

Example:

Dear Mr Contract Manager at Greggs, today we collected 242Kg of dry recyclables from your 22 sites, your bin weight therefore is 11Kg.

Police- What was your bin weight, Biffa "11Kg".

Weight only matters when it is going to landfill.

That backs up my research that paper goes to the Norfolk/Suffolk ports. Non at all?

None at all, nearest pulping is done at Steinbeis in Germany.
