All very valid points. But surely cctv would identify his clothing so they'd know pretty early on he left on a moped?

True, but the Police/family seem to be keen to give us information on how he didn't leave; not how he did.

Perhaps they already know, but need witnesses?

  • #262
If he left in a vehicle, then why have they asked people to view CCTV of people walking/running about?

I think we're all grasping at straws here but I mentioned motorbike and nicola mentioned bike way back and now the moped. The helmets would disguise to some degree. Are we getting close?

Your guess is as good as mine. Witnesses maybe? Although they don't have a great deal of vehicle options so it doesn't seem necessary.

Would the bike theory not suggest intentionally leaving in a harder to track way?

Maybe someone turned up on a mo/ped/bike, ran about a bit, made a deal and skedaddled?

This was asked some weeks ago and the issue seems to be that urine does not contain DNA [under normal circumstances] so if he did have a wee there'd be no way to tell that it was actually his.

Unfortunately this is a myth. Granted the DNA in urine is limited but it's presence in the male sample is stronger than the female sample.

Urine is not considered an ideal source of DNA due to the low concentration of nucleated cells present in human urine. The nucleated cells found in urine are typically white blood cells and epithelial cells. There are large differences between the amount of epithelial cells present in male and female urine.

yes and that's why they're used in deals imo. Corrie seems to have entered this murky nightime activity either unwittingly or knowingly - we just don't know unfortunately but apparently someone does.

And after several days any rain would have washed it away or severely diluted it anyway.

We can only post anything from social media if it's coming directly from family and you must supply a link. No hearsay, no screen shots from social media.

It is like walking on eggshells sometimes knowing what you can and can't post but you'll get used to it :)

That is very clearly laid out by Nicola. So why the emphasis on random people walking through the area? Shouldn't the focus be on releasing CCTV and details of the cars?

I doubt any of the people on CCTV could give anything more than colour of a car at best as witnesses. The CCTV could give a lot more potentially. I guess when Tony said the cars had been identified he didn't mean traced?

I think people angering hung up on the whole 'identification' thing and misunderstanding the definition of the word. There's identifying a vehicle and there's indentifying a vehicle. The police have probably identified a vehicle as being a 'Ford Alpha' but not identified it as being a Ford Alpha with VRNo ABC123 thus identifying it.
The vehicles could be cloned (I've just fought my own two year case for my cloned car, nightmare proving it wasn't me). They could have captured the back end of it but the VRN could have been blurred as the cctv zoomed in automatically as happened with the running man. A spider could have walked over the lens at the wrong moment. A person walking past the VRN just when it was leaving the area. Bin lorry obscuring it...the list is endless. Im dealing with another personal hit and run situation at the moment and the vehicle who hit me from behind had false plates. Another nightmare of a job trying to identify the driver and vehicle and I spoke to him through my wound down window!!

If they're low on resources why do the hub? Why not release the facial stills of the people they seem most important? Are we assuming they've had each vehicle forensically searched and discounted? I mean, out of the vehicles they must have spoken to owners to clarify why they were there etc surely they don't all have watertight alibis and if one isn't registered/fake plates/stolen etc then it makes it all the more likely to be the one involved.

The timeline itself really has to be 3.25-4am this can't leave them with too many options here. What about the neighbours of the car owners? Suspicious behaviours and anything unusual happening. If resource is really low why are the vehicles not the priority over some rather grainy footage?

I've said it before, I fail to see the huge mystery. Yes he could have arranged to disappear, arranged a lift or been taken unwillingly but if it comes down to four vehicles then what's the next feasible steps?

The only vehicles I can see having any 'business' down there or needing to be there are:
a. A vehicle using it to turnaround such as a resident on Shortbrackland with a large van. A smaller vehicle can be turned around before that location where Corrie was last seen.

b. A vehicle collecting nightshift workers such as ones from the pubs/clubs/door staff etc OR early morning potato pickers.

c. Collection by prior arrangement such as Taxi drivers or private vehicle.

d. Service industry vehicles (bin collection, stall setups, Gregg delivery types)

e. Emergency services.

f. Vehicles with nefarious reasons.

When you copy and paste the relevant update from Tony or Nicola (or any official MSM) just copy and paste the www addresss from the bar at the same time, that will be the link.

You can send the mods a p.m. if you are having trouble, they are very helpful.

Still confusing.

So far CCTV has been viewed up until 12 on Sat afternoon.

Only 4 vehicles go in the area up to 0800 hours.

That's if you put what is being said by Nicola together.

Surely it should read "no vehicles go into the area up to 12 noon"
If the footage has been viewed till then, then people and cars are seen.

I can only assume that cars entering after 0800 are not suspected in anyway as being involved.

So if it is believed Corrie departed in a car, yet no one is looking at cars "past 0800", then why bother looking for people ?

Does this go back to "the phone in the bin" ?
As in, does someone go back to (try to) retrieve it in the morning.
