I was just thinking the same thing. Mom looks much older-not looking too healthy or engaged. Maybe she had Alzheimers or something?

My aunt just turned 97, and she looks way younger than poor Lorna. Something was chronic here.

I worked in care facilities with elderly patients of late stage dementia and IMHO she looks exactly like them.

Very little found online after the first reports about the death in mid-December.

Emma Nightingale, 36, claimed Lorna Nightingale, 70, had been begging her to take her life for months. She said she gave her an overdose of sleeping pills and grabbed her mother around the neck when she started having a seizure. Not liking her being left in a hotel bed for a cleaner (or a.n.other) to find.

Strangulation seems brutal to me, with the force involved, on a mother. Smothering is less brutal I think, especially with bedding available in a hotel room. It doesn't sound right, IMO.
