Don't forget the footprints in the snow
''Witnesses had described seeing a man lingering in the area, wearing a lumber jacket and a cowboy hat, but he was never traced. There were also four unidentified palm prints around the door frame and a witness had seen a man running up the road during that time period.''

In reference to what? Peter Sutcliffe's foot size?

Which is a point, that may be on record somewhere. I can't imagine him being trendy enough to wear monkey boots, weren't they a fashion? Or just practical and easily available, I don't know.

Does the UK use genetic genealogy at all?

Been a long time since I read up on Peter Sutcliffe, but from what I remember he was an opportunistic killer, he didn’t stalk his victims or hide in their house (as far as I can recall anyway). This just doesn’t feel like his MO to me.

There was mention of a bed sit where they found stabbed photos of ES. Was anything uncovered about the occupant (sorry if I missed anything in the thread)
Sorry I missed the second part, I have found nothing of it coming to anything, only a strong impression that the police didn't feel of importance and I think all the pictures came about after her death when she became famous through the press attention who advertised all these magazines she posed in, therefore his obsession came afterwards not before and thus I haven't really bothered with links and describing the contents. If I felt it important I would have included more, if anyone else wants to supply more, if they have access that is. I believe the lad, pretty sure it was someone young, lived in Liverpool. The police never named him.

WTF? I don't know what happened there...
What about the reference to footprints in the snow?

The foul smelling hitchhiker seen near the deposition site of Lynne Weedon may have soiled himself as he threw her over the fence.
The ex BBC producer I think was his job, talking in the news article I posted, said nothing about the hitchhiker smelling bad or smelling of anything.

I don't understand why you are bringing up the footprints *confused*

Btw I checked and Sutcliffe had size 7 feet (I looked at different sources to check as sometimes people get it wrong) and the footprints in the snow leading to and from Lynda's house were size 9

This thread will knock your socks off regarding the number of recently solved cold cases using just smidgens of DNA..

Daily Mirror
April 28, 1975

Photofit based on 2 witnesses (mentioned in previous post) of a man who is seemingly one and the same person, seen on Lyndhurst Drive, 1 walking behind her as she was returning home and who ever killed her must have entered her door as or just after she arrived as her neighbour was very vocal on when she heard another voice upstairs, the times if noises and when they left, yet only reports when Eve came home, not about knocking and hearing Eve let someone in or Eve going upstairs them downstairs then up again with extra people. Anyway I digress.

The second was seen by another witness standing outside Eve's home around the time the downstairs neighbour heard someone go downstairs and leave.
Generally I think they believe it's the same person as they seem so similar, however they have separated them I assume because either one witness described him better or just in case it's two people I guess.

The article gives pretty much the same descriptions.
The first being described as shorter, rosy face, bushy brows, coat seemed too long on him and ¾ length.
Second pic described taller by another witness, around 5ft 8", dark wavy hair.

Pictures were made up by the police for the purpose if tracing witnesses or the killer so I don't believe they can breach copyright as they don't belong to the press.

Btw here it says the police think she met the killer on her way home and took him home.

I am sure this is the way forward, I started to read the UK gov report and as soon as I read that this type of testing can only use pretty much DNA samples I thought BS, it is obvious they don't want to go down this path and will dig their heals in and blather their way though it. While patting themselves on the back how great their current system is. Well tbh our policing service is good, some of the police forces in other countries are ridiculously corrupt or inept and some are supposedly first world countries. I won't name any as it's not about point scoring, however the UK can be very slow and suspicious to take new things on as well as get cold feet about costs and public perception. Doesn't mean they won't get there, just need more convincing.
Because America is so vast with many more people and we are so little, there has to be many more unidentified found bodies there than here, therefore allowing many families to know what happened to loved ones. However I think solving these cold cases would put many peoples minds at rest. For Lynne and Eve, their parents are deceased now, I believe Lynne has a brother. Elizabeth had a sister, husband and children. Lynda had children. Not sure who else, plus there is their friends who would also want justice. Why wait for everyone to die?

We could ask them to test the DNA linked to Eve and Lynda

Either there is existing DNA and they have already ruled out a link because this murderer's DNA IS on file now OR there is no DNA available to test from Lynda's case.

In either scenario, asking for this would be pointless.

This test would only be of use to test the existing DNA of the killer against a family member who has uploaded their DNA to a genealogy site and therefore may not have a criminal record and be distantly related. I think our usual DNA testing may pick up on relatives on file who have been arrested for something, which is no use if his family have not offended since the police started taking DNA off everyone who gets arrested/charged.

That should have said pretty much perfect DNA samples

Michelle Booth age 16 attacked and thrown off a train who nearly didn't survive. I'm reading about her as the police in the article I am reading are getting all excited about linking her attack to Lynne, Elizabeth, Eve and Lynda. It took place in Chiswick I believe.

Michelle Booth photo with Roy Orbison, she was a big fan and his music was played to her while she was in s coma, he must have heard about her and taken special interest. Some articles say she was 15 when attacked.
I'll have to rearrange the article I referred to in my own words as per rules as it's behind a paywall. There's a photofit, it's kind of similar to those of the man on Eve's street. Also it says something about the killing of Lynne, Elizabeth and where this girl was attacked on a single axis.

I don't think she had jeans on, but she was wearing trousers and has fair hair.
