I read that most of the staff did not want to go to Sandringham because they have homes/families in Windsor and/or they are close to retirement age and do not wish to up sticks and move.

Best they hire some locals in Norfolk, has to be someone who’d make the guy a sandwich now and again.

It would not surprise me to find out that Andrew is ‘not well’.

The RF has often gone to great lengths to hide certain illnesses.

I do not know who the "expert" is, who claims that William as a monarch "is adamant his uncle should face a police inquiry...", but if that "expert" believes that a monarch of today has any say in whether the police should open an inquiry, they doesn't seem to be familiar with the British legal and political system. William is not going to become an absolute monarch, whether he, or any editor of Royalist newsletters dream of.

(I haven't read the article, as I refuse to 'feed' that tabloid.)

Why do you think there wasn't a police investigation into a known 17 year old sex trafficking victim, travelling with a known sex trafficker, accusing Andrew of rape? It's unfathomable if he wasn't a royal.

I suspect this is less a case of royal interference and more a matter of institutional deference to the royal family on the part of the police. Which I think unfortunately exists.

I think William letting it be known he would be happy for police to investigate claims against the royal family is only a good thing.

IF Andrew used his position for financial crimes, that could potentially shake the monarchy.

People might be willing to look the other way regarding sexual misbehavior but not financial, especially if done by an official. And, in his role of Trade Envoy, Andrew was an official. He besmirched not only the monarchy, but the nation.

I think the Queen kept this from unraveling and William wants nothing to do with it. But if serious crimes were committed that are becoming public knowledge, Charles can't do anything except say he will support law enforcement.

I've been waiting for the financial mess to be revealed. This wasn't "just" a sex ring.

Andrew was doing what ever he was doing financially as a representative of the royal family, so if he's thrown under a bus will he drag Charlie down with him. We can only hope.

I read a joke the other day, someone was comparing tension in a room, akin to a dinner party with the entire royal family in one room, at dinner.

Imagine that.

I don't think Andrew is going to many royal dinner parties any longer. Personally, I think that he is lucky to have been given "Marsh House" as his retirement cottage.

Andrew alone is responsible for his behavior. His brother has done all he can to remove his brother at every scandal that arose during his reign. I've no doubt King Charles will obey the laws and do nothing to interfere with Andrew's prosecution or any further actions Parliament wishes to take in relation to Andrew's problems.

King Charles, his sister, his younger brother Edward and his son William and Catherine are trustworthy, productive,dedicated servants to their country. There's no need for an "end to the royal family"

Yes, he is. The king is not allowed to interfere in any prosecutions, civil court cases or similar matters before the court. He's not on Andrew's side on this, nor has he been in the past.
It seems the Queen should have given Andrew even more oversight in his duties with business people.
