As for the ‘end for the Royal Family’, I suspect that will happen in the not too distant future due to lack of bodies.
With second son gone, William has lost his main line of support as a monarch.
There are many less cousins to step up, will they want to? Etc.
‘You need to be seen to be believed’ is a truism and I doubt it will continue for many more generations.
The cousins are now already wealthy, educated people who may want to lead their own lives.
The world is just a bigger place with much different values and this will just peter out naturally.
If one adds in the anti monarchy sentiment and resentment, it just gets worse.
I’ve always thought that once QE II had died, they (children & grands) should just retire to private life.
