Yeah as molly said above I’m out now. No need for any further speculation. Just my final thoughts on the swim theory really.
Rest in peace Gaynor and may your family find strength through these darkest of dark days. I’m so sorry for all of them x

It’s like you just read my mind here. I’m a cold water dipper and I can’t reconcile it. It’s so dangerous this time of year but as I’ve said to others maybe that’s just it. She wanted to try and underestimated it. So sad if so.
A cold water dipper and wild swimming in a flowing river are not the same thing.
If this idea occurred to her in an episode of irrational thoughts that misled her to think it was a good idea, I don't consider that to be her wanting to try it, we can't control a brain from going awry.

Agree.. I definitely don’t purport to be any sort of psychiatrist at all myself

All I’m saying is if she wasn’t proficient in dipping then swimming is so dangerous that’s all. It’s not to be messed with and someone can’t just do it unguided generally.

Edited to lose wording ‘decide’

Rest in peace Gaynor Lord. I am relieved for her family that the police found her so quickly.

So very true. I have many what I would call 'smiling depressives' in my family.
That’s such a good description/name

That she just fancied a swim? Come on. Defies all logic.

It does seem unlikely. Perhaps on a hot summer's day if she was a keen swimmer. But not in December in failing light. No.

Does anyone have any correlating stats between partners who do talk to press vs who don't and then those who are charged with their murder. All I know is if I found myself in this situation I wouldn't speak to press either - and I say that as someone who works in a press office.
Sarah Everards partner had suspicion thrown on him cos he didn't speak to press. NB husband had to deal with so much awful stuff whilst looking after two young girls who's mum was missing.
Not the same but I remember Ian Huntleys face all over press pretending to care when he'd killed the girls.
I just think it's really unfair to comment on GL husband not talking to the press. And unless someone shows me evidence I don't think it means anything either way.

I don't think it means anything other than he's devastated and requires privacy. I wouldn't speak to anybody either if this happened to me.

I don’t have statistics, but I can recall quite a few cases where a spouse or parent was very talkative to press, and pleading for a safe return, and was later arrested for murder.

I don't understand why the papers are sharing more footage of her. It's not like it's a murder investigation.
I mean, I get they are doing it for clicks but it seems really inappropriate now.

Right. And why do we need to see a picture of her daughter Charlotte. As beautiful as the photo is.

Oh that is terrible. MOO

I found the new clip interesting and poignant, as it shows GL speeding up again and walking with purpose. However, I don't think they should be trying to dig stuff up on her daughter. MOO.

I am curious why she was reported missing less than 6 hours after she was seen at work. Was her family already concerned for her such that 6 hours would be enough to report her? I think a lot of us if we were out and about, our families wouldn't worry about us until much later.

I feel sorry for the friend she phoned that afternoon, she must have so many thoughts and questions.

Because her belongings were found first.

That’s true. It might in fact be an indication that they were already worried, now that you point that out.
