Found Deceased UK - Gaynor Lord was last seen in Norwich city centre on London Street heading towards Norwich Cathedral, 2:35 pm, 8 December 2023

There is also a care home in the Cathedral maybe an emergency visit to an elderly relative???

If police are now saying - as previous links above - they have 'some idea' of why she left work early, that could be a possibility.

Peter Faulding, who claims he found Nicola Bulley's body 'after just six minutes' of looking only to be told by police it was 'nothing', has offered to help in another missing persons case.
He tweeted: 'We would happily assist the family free of charge. They currently have search teams on scene but the more expertise the better. Let’s hope Gaynor is alive somewhere.'

I am surprised that he date show his face.
I wondered how long it would be until he popped up again.

I hope the media have learnt the lessons from the NB case and do not give him any airtime.

Thanks for the correction, i'm doubling up with the Caroline Glachan case at the moment so apologies.
Figured it was something like that. Easy to do! :p

Is there any particular reason you are concerned with what clothing was or wasn't found in the park? What significance do you think it implies?
Yes there is reason, as mentioned in several posts, 3 people were posting that ALL her clothing except underwear was discarded and I wanted a link as I had not read this. We can't have misinformation in Web Sleuths.

Not sure if this is new info or not. Taken from
Norwich Evening News :

They also have her access to her mobile phone which they will be "working through systematically".

Gaynor 'would have been familiar' with the riverside park where she was last seen

Friends of missing mum Gaynor Lord today said she 'would have been familiar' with the riverside park where she was last seen.
A major police search has focussed on Wensum Park in Norwich, Norfolk, since her belongings were found on Friday night, five hours after she left work early.
The 55-year-old's glasses, trousers and shoes were found with other clothing, rings, a phone and handbag scattered in the beauty spot amid fears she entered the water.
Friends today said the park, around a mile from her workplace but the opposite direction from her home in King Street, was one of her favourite dog-walking spots.

So now this article mentions trousers but the other articles did not. What is the truth?

The UK attitude to "jaywalking" is completely different than it is in the US or other countries. It's not illegal here. People can cross the road wherever and won't get a fine (or hit by a car if they are careful).Extremely common behaviour, even in cities.

Just to reiterate, I live in Norwich and walk that exact part of the city, crossing that exact junction, most weeks. 9 times out of 10 no one bothers waiting for the lights because if the traffic has stopped in a jam, you cross, or if the road is clear, you cross.

Edit: words. I also don't know where the quote went! Apologies.

If we didn’t we wouldn’t get anywhere on time

The rushing to the cathedral seems to have all the hallmarks of an assignation to me. On some of the stills from the CCTV footage Gaynor appears to be smiling as she runs there. On the stills after she emerges and stops rushing, the smile appears to be gone. JMO.

Victoria Coren Mitchell has recently had a child at 51.
That's highly unusual though.
I read Gaynor's daughters are in their 20s.

Exactly, and at 3pm Tombland (the road she is crossing) is insanely busy.

Tombland is always busy agreed.

So as in the N Bulley case, you have the same set of questions re whether she could have fallen in, or deliberately went in, or ran away, or met with foul play.

The difference is the removal of much of her clothing first, I guess. Nicola was fully clothed on a steep muddy bank, so a slipping accident could have been possible. This lady had had her rings removed or removed them herself. It's a very strange one.

GAYNOR Lord's distraught husband is "in bits" over her mysterious disappearance, loved ones revealed today.

[...]

Now sister-in-law Susan Sinclair, 66, has revealed hubby Clive Lord, 63 - her brother - and the whole family still hoped “she’s found safe and well”.

“Our other brother Simon, like me, is just hoping for good news. We’re all just very shocked.

“There’s nothing we can do at the moment except hope that she’s found safe and well.”

Susan said Gaynor did have religion - but was still puzzled why she would have been at the cathedral.

Spooky - I've just been doing the same matching-up of manhole covers on Google Maps at exactly the same time you were. You're exactly right.

The striking thing is that this is not a the kind of shop window you would typically browse in as you were wandering past, because the lower parts of those windows are blocked off with blinds. So something caught her eye.

Indeed, if you look closely, it's almost as if she is seeing at something that isn't actually there, i.e. hallucinating perhaps?

Or maybe someone was just peering out through the blinds?

Or look at her reflection in the window. Which I do in shop windows.
