From the floor plan above....

We know from something Helen wrote in the blog that her office/work room was downstairs.

We also know, from a police officer remark, that IS also had a study ( or desk ) downstairs - there is a line in the police evidence about he took me into a room, just off the main hallway, and mention of ISs desk

So I am guessing that Helen had the large room on the left front of the ground floor because that other, smaller room, marked as study, would not be ideal to work in. It is the main main route from hall or kitchen to the lounge and conservatory. Not very private.

But if IS also had a desk downstairs, then this is the only other place to have one.

Which leads me on to the note.
The note that was on ISs desk.
Which is in that study room.
Which everyone has to walk past.

It's in no way comparable, but I have had two hernia repairs with the incision just above the belly button. I was told not to lift, drive or vacuum for 3 weeks but in reality it was 1 week before I was back to normal. Although maybe that's why I needed the second repair, they were a bit shocked the first had failed lol.

I'm wondering if IS has used some kind of skateboard or contraption to help him move the body to the cess pit. I know wheelie bin was mentioned before but could that not be a bit of a struggle getting her in there?

I suppose though even if you are in a bit of pain if you have a body to hide it would soon distract you from whatever discomfort you were feeling!

Hopefully it means that he made an attempt but wasn't savvy enough to do a really deep clean (seven overwrites of the actual data sectors using special software is considered the norm). Information is more often than not still lurking even when folk think they've cleverly cleared it out.

There was something on his website info about him changing the server I think a few days after Helen went missing. Would that have got rid of evidence?

My reading of this is that he deleted the browser history and a forensic IT examiner was able to retrieve enough data from the hard drive.

Yup, it's all to easy to recover stuff. I've had folk under investigation for information leaks, making sure they used standalone machines off the office netowork then thinking they're so clever deleting history as well as data - only to be horrified when we recovered it!

I think it probably would have yes. Also the fact he did that when helen was supposedly missing is well suspect for whatever reason he did it.....imo

That wouldn't be the sort of server that would store the browsing data from his computer I don't think. The only place that would be stored is the computer it was accessed on and the Internet Service Provider's cached data.

I didn't see the post you mean but if it was on his web site I presume he was talking about changing the server his web site was hosted on. This would not have any information about his browing on it.

I presume the last change of info (Oct 2015) was the last time he renewed the domain name, but could also be registering a change of name server.

I only gave it a quick scan but means tested usually means they look at your finances.... I'm zonked with the cold but it would be lovely if IS had to pay all his costs himself. Especially since he's definitely not short of cash! So his defence will tell us next week anyway..... lol

I think his estate will be claimed by the crown to pay the lawyers. But I'm not an expert. I'd also be interested to know what happens to HB's estate. There's the law of forfeiture so clearly IS won't have anything but is payout of assets subject to the trial being concluded and him being found guilty? I wonder how they decide to split the estate.

He possibly thought as much (belt, braces and double knicker elastic approach in his eyes). But I think it was just a domain server issue. From the top level records it looks as if he's changed his IP address a good few times over past years but I can't get to the detail of what and when without coughing up $99. I don't mind opening and wasting a paracetamol but $99 is a bit much, especially when it may not help. Am wondering if he thought by changing his IP address he would be covering his tracks from the 'other end' if that makes sense. Again, any forensics person within (say) the police should have access to this information through their work.

If they had found more incriminating info than the "scrap" they referred to I imagined it would have featured in the Prosecution's opening statement on Day 1.
I would love to hear what he's been googling but I fear that we may not hear much more. It's possible he did the bulk of any incriminating searches etc using his phone which he disposed of, early on.

Sadly that's probably true. He wiped Helen's browsing history as well, didn't he. Presumably they recovered that as they know she had been searching for reasons for her falling asleep.
