I'm guessing Nick and Joe have followed the trial and contacted police when they realised they were being described. Hence them being late prosecution witnesses and not called during the prosecution phase.

Poor blokes probably fell off their chairs when they realised that they were apparently responsible!

IS denies he had those men in mind as an aide memoire. They're ushered out of the court. #helenbailey

Ah, I feel sorry for them being hauled to court. At least they had each other so they may have got a laugh out of it outside.

Helen Bailey trial: Stewart denies Nick and Joe are a "figment of his information" and are based on two of his real friends in Bassingbourn

So who's Dave? He probably runs Royston post office...

I would loved to have seen IS's face as his ole pals J&N were ushered into court

The trial resumes

The case has now been called back on and jurors are being called into the court room.
Stewart has resumed his place in the witness stand.
Prosecutor Stuart Trimmer continues his cross examination.
T: We suggest Joe and Nick don’t exist and are a figment of your imagination?
S: You’re wrong
T: You ran with plan one, saying to the whole world, that you last saw Helen on April 11 and she’d gone on her own for space and time to Broadstairs, and you wanted her back forever.
Plan two is that Joe and Nick actually existed and they’d got her. Plan one failed when you found out Helen was dead.
S: No, that’s not true
T: You had to keep a whole raft of detail in your head for dealing with this, didn’t you?
S: Yes

T: When telling the truth you merely have to recall what the truth is. If you’re lying and you suggest you are, you have to remember what lies you told previously so you don’t trip up.
S: I don’t quite follow.
T: Nick and Joe are modeled on people you know. You know some people called Nick and Joe from your time in Bassingbourn.
S: I do know people called Nick and Joe from Bassingbourn yes
T: Do you know someone called Joe Cippullo? He is Italian.
S: He’s a bowler, I bowled with him in the past
T: Nick Cook?
S: Yes I know someone by that name too.

Trying to work and just getting half the story. But it seems to be descending into farce!

Do we both need to be doing the twitter machine??? :D

I do wonder if that slip up was the name of another friend that Nick and Joe hung around with. Maybe it was that that reinforced to them that he was describing them.

This is the most bizarre trial I've ever followed.

Ah, I feel sorry for them being hauled to court. At least they had each other so they may have got a laugh out of it outside.

They probably wanted it to be publicly clear that they aren't kidnapping gangsters!

I hope they didn't laugh until they got a respectable distance away from court... ;)

I love it when he doesn't answer. This is when he's actually realising that Trimmer doesn't believe him :)

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think it is him realizing that he is losing the counter arguments with Trimmer and rather than invite another barrage, thus digging himself further into a huge hole, he's declining to answer.

This is hugely significant as it means he feels threatened. It is extremely hard for people with APD's to retain their composure when threatened. Trimmer needs to really press him now in the same manner and allow the jury to see the monster's true nature.

If he feels his credibility and ultimately, his vain bid to control events are in question he's capable of anything.

[h=3]In your head all along?[/h]T: in your head these men are people known as Nick and Joe aren’t they? And people that you had as part of story in your head?
S: Not at all
T: Dave. Was anybody called Dave involved in this kidnapping?
S: No, Helen always wondered whether Dave Jensen was involved with Joe in some way

Is anyone from Sky tweeting?

If they are they haven't used the words "Helen Bailey" so I would imagine not. I haven't specifically looked for them though.
