Referring to Dollly's post...

I think the report we had earlier that one of them was "about 56" was actually a mishearing and he said "about 5 foot 6". Makes more sense now we have met NiJo.

I was out through all this (the pull of the sea on a sunny morning), came back and whizzed through the Cambridge News report and when I got to Nick and Joe appearing in court - I fell about laughing, of course. Then I came on here and when I got to all of you laughing and making cracks I fell about laughing all over again. Like Dolly, I may never stop.

But Dolly - you've been won over by Strimmer, haven't you? Go on - it couldn't have been more dramatic than it was this morning?

Confirmation from OBF that the adjournment for legal matters was indeed to get leave to bring NiJo into court. They are prosecution witnesses. They would most likely have been called by the prosecution during their evidence phase if they had known about them. If you think about it, it strikes me that bringing them in when they did is far more effective in making IS look like the lying plonker that he is.

T: Why on your arrest, did you say ‘Jamie the garage doors are open’. Did you have any particular concern about police and the garage?

Of course we know why he had concerns over the police and the garage but I'm interested to know how he knew Jamie would understand the significance of the garage doors being open too.

Hmmm.... the more I learn about this spineless weasel the less likely it is to me that he remained calm, composed and silent behind doors, as the police activity escalated and the pressure on him mounted.

It was a brilliant move. Absolutely delicious :giggle:

Do they follow each other's trials? How?!

TV, Illicit Smart phones usually. Also visitors or staff will take great delight in relaying today's events to the general population. There's little or nothing that escapes them.

Illicit tiny little phones?

A lot of Twitterererers are retweeting a link to the Daily Heil's recent article. On point of principle I refuse to link to that rag.

OMFG... OBF says he thinks IS is certain the jury is buying it. That man is in for such a shock.

But you have mentioned it, which is the same thing only less convenient for your readers.

It's not the same thing at all! I'm giving them no link juice this way :D

I'd love Dolly to write a sketch of Joe and Nick meeting in the waiting area of the court this morning.

Comedy gold.

Yes, Strimmer's doing well today, he's upped his game and put IS on the back foot as I hoped he would. He needs to keep the pressure on this afternoon - when IS is confronted with his lies and has nowhere to go he's like a cornered animal and that's when the jury see his true colours. It reminds me of his behaviour during the police searches and interviews, he was pacing, petulant, snapping at people. This kind of conduct reveals a guilty man and hopefully we'll see more of it.

One thing confused me this morning, the exchange I highlighted earlier when Trimmer was asking about the affectionate texts IS sent Helen after she'd supposedly been 'kidnapped'. I thought IS had admitted he had her phone in his possession at that time, so why was Trimmer asking him why he didn't address the kidnappers in his texts?

I think he's showing how easy it is for IS to not know what he's talking about. He's making him contradict himself on the stand.

Oh yes, much better timing to have Nick and Joe walk in when IS is on the stand. His face must have been a picture! Smart move by Mr Trimmer and like the best courtroom moments, pure theatre!
