[h=3]Helen Bailey did not talk about husband's diaries[/h]T: Have you had an opportunity of looking at John Sinfield’s diary?
S: Only in court what was given to me
T: Did Helen ever talk to you about them?
S: No
T: Did you ask Helen when she last saw Joe?
S: I don’t think that was mentioned. She saw Joe had met John Sinfield most often in Broadstairs
T: Was any date given for any connection between Helen and Joe?
S: No

[h=3]Stewart denies making up kidnappers[/h]T: These people are your creation
S: No they’re not
T: The descriptions you gave are for kidnappers and murderers still out there somewhere, and you want to catch them?
S: Yes
T: When did you decide you wanted to catch them?
S: I don’t know

Helen looked for information about 'Joe'

T: Did Joe have a second name?
S: When he first came he introduced himself, his second name began with ‘four’ or ‘fa’ or something
T: When you next saw Helen again did you saw who was that?
S: She told me what she knew about him. She said he was a business partner or associate of John Sinfield
T: A certain point later you must have been scrabbling round in your head information about this man. Did you ever write down what Helen told you about him?
S: No
T: Then Nick came into the tale.
S: Helen said she didn’t know Nick, but that he was friend of Joe’s.
T: Did she say whether she had phone numbers for them?
S: No
T: Did she go and get any paperwork relating to them?
S: She did have a look
T: Did you help her?
S: No
T: Did Helen ever tell you in any form what she was looking for?
S: A lever arch file relating to Joe
T: But about what? S: She didn’t say

Because dastardly kidnappers always introduce themselves with their full name

T: You had seen Mr Carey’s report on the probable method of her death, by smothering or by an arm lock?
S: Probably yes. I can’t remember

Oh god so he really did just add that bit to the story where he's put into a headlock and told " This is what happened to Helen. Even though he also says he'd spoke to her on the kidnappers phone minutes earlier.

So not only did they kill her in the way the pathologists report suggested, but they told IS that they'd done that to her... before she was even dead.

He said he spoke Ms Bailey over the phone on Friday, April 15 and she told him: ‘I love you, I’m sorry about everything’.
He said he was then put in a headlock by Nick, who explained ‘This is what happened to Helen’ and that he was ordered to find Ms Bailey’s phone and bring it to Broadstairs.

[h=3]Stewart tells of mystery prison phone call[/h]
T: When did you change your mind about telling the world about Nick and Joe?
S: When I received a phone call
T: From who? S: I don’t know
T: Don’t know, or won’t tell?
S: I don’t know
T: Some unidentifiable man in prison gives you a phone?
S: I saw him before but don’t know his name. I was well known in prison. I’m not in a position to say who they are. I can’t give the court a name.
T: So this man’s never spoken to you before, and he gives you a phone and says ‘this is for you’?
S: Correct
T: And who’s on the other line?
S: A man. He doesn’t sound like Joe or Nick. He had no accent that springs to mind.

Can you imagine the pain John, Jamie and Oliver are going through right now. This is a living nightmare.

It's horrendous. I can't believe this man is trying to save his skin with this at all. He really must think people are stupid

Love it when IS contradicts himself, which we know is often. But .. T. Did Helen ever talk you about them?
S. NO - .. and yet he states that Helen 'saw Joe had met JS most often in Broadstairs'. Another tumble down the Alice rabbit hole - pushed neatly by Strimmer.

"In my mind..."

He uses that phrase a lot doesn't he.
As opposed to a sane person's mind!

I'm just catching up as I felt too ill to follow his drivel earlier

Thank you for everyone's posts!

Oh what a tangled web we weave

[h=3]Caller was an 'old friend of John Sinfield' Stewart tells court[/h]T: As clearly as you can, tell us what he said to you?
S: He said is that Stewart? I said yes. I can’t remember what he said next….
T: Because you’re making this up. This would be the clearest thing in your mind if it was anything like the truth.
S: He said he was an old friend of John Sinfield’s. He said ‘make it quick, I don’t want you caught with a phone’. He then said ‘I want to give you my condolences for Helen, she should never have been involved in this in any way’. He said ‘I always had what Joe wanted’
T: Then what else?
S: I asked him again who he was, he said he couldn’t tell me. He said Joe has been taken care of.
T: This is all fantasy Mr Stewart
S: I wish it was, in many ways
T: You finished this phone call with him understanding what?
S: That I could speak to police, speak to my legal team I’m not sure I’m doing the right thing even now. I’m still concerned for Jamie and Oliver.

[h=3]Arm around neck threat 'happened' - Stewart[/h]T: Then the phone was given back?
S: Yes
T: You told this jury that the real account was that Joe and Nick reinforced the threat by putting an arm round your neck. That’s in your story because it’s an echo of what you read in the pathologist statement isn’t it?
S: I don’t remember that statement. But that’s what happened.
T: You want there to be a chime with the reality in this
S: No
