I was amazed too - who wears jeans to court? Especially if charged with murder! Yes, probably those hideous dad jeans he wore in the garden photos with Helen, with the crotch ending somewhere around his knees SHUDDER!

I've seen some strange things in court - people in track suits and dressing gowns. We're way beyond mums shopping at tescos in their PJs in the UK now but yes I did expect him to wear a jacket and tie at least once. Clip on tie obviously .....

Am just filling time really waiting for Judge

Jury now likely to start considering their verdict tomorrow

Jurors are being told by Judge Andrew Bright that he is not now going to conclude his summing up of the case by lunchtime.

Judge Bright says he has another case to start at 2pm today, for which he must choose jurors for that case.

He says that he is going to have to break off about 1.15pm today and finish his summing up tomorrow morning - with jurors going out to deliberate tomorrow instead of today.

Verdict tomorrow or by Weds at the latest one hopes then. I hope IS is stressing about it too....prolongs the agony.....unless of course he is (as has been suggested) enjoying it.

So, he did half hour on Friday, say 2 today, that should hopefully leave not more than 1 hour tomorrow morning, so Jury out before lunch ........could get a verdict by end of tomorrow ?

Sadly, I bet he's enjoying it....it's another day out for him, and there won't be many more of those in his future lifestyle

Ah good, 2 days of summing up might just cancel out that 4.5 hours of defence. So they'll have had the weeekend plus 2 days listening to the judge since the defence speech.

Not surprising. This is SRF's fault.
Probably not done them any favours though, it just means his disingenuous rubbish will be even further away in the memories of the jury.

I'm hoping this is the Strimmer's doing. Used the discussion with counsel to point out all the lies and deceipt in R-F's summing up and making Judge B add some amendments to his summing to cover them.

I'm wearing a striped top here today - just for Helen and Boris. x

Is prosecution case 'compelling', judge asks jury

Judge Bright is now moving on to summarise the case for the prosecution and defence.

“Relatively little of the evidence for the prosecution in this case is in dispute. You need to ask yourself whether the evidence of the prosecution is so compelling that it will make you sure, that this defendant killed Helen Bailey.

“At the time of her death Helen was 51, she was a successful writer of books for teenagers and had published her first book for adults in October 2015, called When Bad Things Happen in Good Bikinis.

“It dealt with the death of her husband John Sinfield in 2011.

“She also began a blog called Planet Grief where she posted details of her say to day life and bereavement strategies.

Helen first met the defendant via the internet in 2012 while she lived in Highgate. “The defendant had lost his wife Diane on 25 June 2010, where he was left with two boys.”

Oh, wouldn't that be brilliant? I hope you're right.

Hi all, haven't popped in for quite a while, I gather we're expecting a verdict this week so what are you all reckoning?

Yes I hope so too. I had a horrible feeling it was Flint causing the discussion, but far more likely ( hope ) to have been The Strimmer, getting correctins made

But it could be a good thing if the judge finishes his summing up tomorrow and then the jury go out to deliberate with it fresh in their minds - I hope?!

Waves to Cags

- guilty on all counts - well they might let him off with the duvet charge ( perverting course of Justice ) but doubt it

Hiya Cags :)

Hoping for guilty but real fear that the defence's twisting of facts might convince the jury.

If I had to narrow down a verdict I'd go for 10-2 guilty. If WE were the jury then 12-0 guilty lol

oops on all counts though I only really care about the murder one
