Human remains found in woodland amid huge police search
''Human remains have been found in woodland near Bristol during a huge police search yesterday (Sunday, November 14).

Officers were called to Stockwood Open Space just before 10am and a cordon remains in place today.

The identity of the deceased person has not yet been confirmed and an Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said this could "take some time".

The full statement from the force said: "Police were called at around 9.50am yesterday (Sunday 14 November) to woodland near Whittock Square, Stockwood following the discovery of human remains.''

Given the large police presence,I presume that the remains are relatively recent as opposed to an archaeological find.

A spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances.

Not sure, the area of Stockwood is not near the city centre, but the article about Claire does say searches of the wider area too.

Residents 'concerned' after human remains found in Bristol woodlands

Interesting that this article is peppered with links to articles about Claire Holland, but not sure if that's just because they're both big local news stories. It is hard to determine from any of the 'remains' reporting how old they are - all seems anecdotal that they're old.

The family of a man have been informed after human remains were discovered in woodlands in Stockwood, Bristol on Sunday (November 14).
Although formal identification is yet to be confirmed, the family of missing man Daniel Hill have been informed by Avon and Somerset Police officers.

Man last seen three weeks ago as police appeal for information
''The statement said: "Daniel has been reported missing and we're asking the public to help us find him.

"The last confirmed sighting of him was at about 2pm near Bristol Royal Infirmary on Tuesday, September 9.

"Daniel is described as white, male, approximately 6ft tall with blue eyes and brown hair.

"He has links with the Brislington area.

"If you know where Daniel is, please call 999 quoting reference 5221209613, or ring 101 with any other information."
