First and foremost they would have to know that Jill knew this man. She certainly did not advertise all her brief flings and one night stands, even to her friends, and her friends might be reluctant to tell the investigators about them, wanting to protect her reputation.

There is also a possibility this man is someone who appeared on the fringes of Jill's life, someone she met briefly at work, someone who was performing some service for her, someone introduced to her on some social occasion, or tried to flirt with her one time in a bar. Someone who did not have real contact with her, but developed unhealthy obsession. Such a person would not get on the police radar that easily.
Exactly this - she travelled extensively for her job, she was quite literally all over the world, and moved in social circles where money isn't much of a problem, so long distance connections can take place quite easily. Being in the public eye, she also would've been quite adept at keeping a low profile when needed, away from the awaiting press and photographers. The amount of people who she would've come into contact with , ands in the days when you didn't have all your contacts electronically, would've been near impossible for the Police to identify.

I am sick and tired at having my comments removed for absolutely no damn reason. My last comment on this thread was deleted for being "flippant". Ever heard of humour you stupid prigs? Other comments have been removed for standing up to bullying and calling out misinformed or deliberately inflammatory statements made by other contributors.

The moderation here is an absolute joke. You can brazenly accuse people of being rapists, murderers and so on but not challenge any other contributors. You can speculate wildly and with total ignorance of the evidence and your posts will stand. You are not allowed to question the moderation in any way whatsoever.

I will not be censored by people who are obviously not up to the job of moderation. It seems like these jumped-up nobodies positively enjoy snipping. censoring, deleting and making pompous and unjustified announcements about one's comments. It presumably makes them feel powerful. In fact it makes them look like petty little despots, which is exactly what they are, and everybody here knows it

I have tried to back up most of my comments with empirical evidence, links and sources rather than indulging in idle speculation and spouting ill-informed opinions I now feel I have completely wasted my time and effort.

Goodbye Websleuths! I'm not interested in any more insulting messages from you. Just remove every damn thing I have ever posted here and forget that I exist. Give my love to Tricia.

Calm down SteveH! It's frustrating to be censored, but I wouldn't take it to heart so much. It's a public forum and there will always be over zealous moderating etc at times.

Yes he was a nutter and he took her by surprise.
You've kinda ignored my point.

You said him being investigated for rape now means he was capable of murder. So, you believe every rapist could shoot someone in the head, in broad daylight?
