Have now! Weren't there when I posted.

Always two sides to a story, but even if the case he wanted to start a new life elsewhere, he should inform police otherwise a waste of time for them and all those involved in searching and putting posters out.

Maybe he was at a crossroads in his life, but who's to say his state of mind at the time didn't push him over the edge? I can't see him not contacting his parents even though if that were the case? And his child?

Until he either is found or comes forward, he is still officially missing if no one has seen or heard of him.
Still cant see the comments you are referring to?

I see his wife has responded this morning.

I don't know what the legal ramifications would be apropos child support, but I think it unlikely anyway that he just went off to start a new life.
Where is his wifes response please? Clicked on the link but can see no recent comments from her?

If they are no longer there, then they have been removed. You can see where some replies are listed, then when you look, nothing there.

This case feels really sad. From the posts in this thread, I worry that it all points to Joshua sadly no longer being here. Hopefully not.
Officers know that Joshua was in Sainsbury’s in Matlock at 12.19pm on Saturday 12 December, having been in the Boyes shop at around noon.

Boyes is described online as a 'supplier of discounted homewares and DIY products, toys, clothes and stationery'. The DIY bit worries me.
In the CCTV photo from Sainsbury's, it seems to me like Joshua is looking at items behind the till at a kiosk. Could he have bought cigarettes, alcohol?
What was the last text before turning his phone off?
'On the day of his disappearance, Joshua texted Talia to say "I love you to the moon and back" before switching off his phone.' Link

At the time of Joshua's disappearance, he was 29 and his wife Talia was 40. I just thought it was worth mentioning, not that it has any obvious relevance at the moment, it's just some information about the case.

I know photos can't tell you a full story but he looks like a loyal, devoted Dad. Very sad loss whatever has happened. Hope they have answers very soon

I was in Matlock last week on a short break. Whilst it is sad Joshua hasn't been found it was good to see literally every business have a poster up with the appeal for information. Seems like the community is rallying.

No new updates. It's a long time to be missing :(

A heartbroken wife whose husband vanished nine months ago believes he’s still alive and has begged him to come home.

Joshua Jones was last seen in December when he told his family he was going to the pharmacy.

He later texted his wife, Talia, to say “I love you to the moon and back” before switching off his phone.

The couple's son, Luke, turned three this week and he still asks where his daddy is.

Talia, who lives in Matlock, Derbyshire, told the Daily Star: “I want Joshua to know I love him to the moon and back too.

“The door is always going to be open wide and our arms will always be open and my heart is going to stay open for him forever.

Joshua was last seen in Sainsbury’s in Matlock at 12.29pm on December 12.

He was wearing blue jeans and a grey Superdry coat with lighter grey sleeves while the hood was bright green on the inside.

Joshua, who has since turned 30, is described as being 6ft, of slim build and has blue eyes and brown hair.

Talia previously revealed the pair had argued on the day he disappeared.

His car had broken down the day before and the pair still hadn’t sorted Christmas presents out or gathered enough cash for the big food shop.

She said at the time: “He texted me hours after he left to say it wasn’t my fault and he loved Luke, the girls and he loved me to the moon and back.”

It is now coming up to one year since he went missing but Talia remains convinced her husband is still alive.

The family are hopeful nine months after Joshua's disappearance (Image: Talia Jones)

She said: “He could be anywhere now, nine months is a long time.

“He has probably gone somewhere where nobody knows him. It is Joshua’s decision what he does and I respect that but I just want him to know how much he is loved and missed.”

Sad, but after the length of time, not unexpected.

Police said a member of the public discovered the body of a man in a secluded part of Clough Woods, near Birchover, Matlock, on Sunday afternoon.

A spokesman said: "We believe it to be 29-year-old Joshua Jones, who had been reported missing from his home in Matlock on Saturday 12 December 2020.

"Our thoughts are with Joshua’s family and they have requested privacy at this time.

"There are thought to be no suspicious circumstances and we are preparing a file for the coroner."

Very sad news but I’m glad he’s been found so that his family can hopefully find some closure.
