Do you Hull guys call Newland Ave the “Avenue” or is that somewhere else? I know there’s The Avenues, just not sure of “The Avenue”?
Mostly we'll say Newland Ave but it is also known as the Avenues .

Depending on context ,I would say its also worth considering that someone local to , or who frequents, a specific Avenue refer to it in that way, someone not local or familiar to it would use more formal name for that specific Avenue but they still may use 'The Avenue' to mean a different Avenue more specific to them.

I would say it indicates a main throughroad or retail Avenue rather than a smaller domestic Avenue though?

The Avenue pub is also a good call imo.

Makes sense to me that he engaged 1st by accident or couldn't properly get into reverse due to proximity of passenger. Initial forward movement seems to be an error.

To me, that gear fumble combined with the previous multiple locking/unlocking, could suggest someone who is flustered for some reason, put off their normal routine. Getting in and driving off is so habitual, that when one is under stress or something unusual occurs to screw up the routine, that's when you do stupid stuff like drive off without putting your headlights on, or with the handbrake still engaged.

Really not satisfied with the polices work during this investigation. I feel like the public need to be told more. We need an announcement from the law enforcement or even an appearance made by Libby’s parents. We’re all being kept in the dark.

Did someone from here cycle behind the allotments and along Oak Road a short while ago? Did he see a blue tent somewhere along the route?
I walked along oak road yesterday no blue tent. Only tent i saw was a brown one not far from the large pond but thats been discounted by LE as i phoned 101 to check.

It’s frustrating but we’re not entitled to any information. Her parents aren’t media puppets.
I’d hope that if they get a public appeal etc would help, they’d do it.

Yes I agree but I can’t think of one missing persons case where the parents are this silent

Me neither. Unless there's a reason for that and the police know a lot more than they're saying.

It’s a fair point, I guess.
There could be any number of reasons they’re quiet though.
I’d sure as hell want to stay out of the media glare in their position unless it’d help.

Looks like there has been another appeal for the four people in the CCTV video to come forward on Hull Live Facebook

Hi yes I agree, I think what I was trying to say was that his confidence came from knowing the routines of the occupants and that, along with what was taken suggests a degree of premeditation and that he may have watched the occupants more closely than just to see when they went out.
Its highly likely he was watching someone maybe LS who knows, he has been charged with voyeurism.

Imagine as a parent having to sift through photographs of your daughter - not so that you can show them to friends and relatives as a great time had on holiday, but so they can be published in the press because that daughter has disappeared.

Libby's parents have made an appeal, they've made statements about how much Libby is loved and missed by them and her siblings, they've been to a vigil and met with her uni friends, they've thanked people for their kindness and support. What else are you expecting from them?

I live two streets away from Libby’s parents and I just expected more from them in terms of the media and press conferences. They’ve attended one vigil here in Wycombe but gone quiet ever since.

It may be that the police have already told them that Libby is very likely no longer alive and they're already grieving for her, and prefer to do that away from the public eye.

Informally it's just called "Newland". People say "I live on Newland", "I'm going on Newland", or "Newland Ave" etc.

Locals wouldn't usually call Newland "The Avenue" because "The Avenues" is a colloquial name for a whole cluster of streets near Newland (e.g. Princes Avenue, Victoria Avenue). If you just said "The Avenue", nobody would know what you meant because nearby Princes Avenue is also a very popular neighbourhood and place for drinking and dining.
