With regards to the press release from LS’s parents.
IMO the last statement about
‘We just want her found’
(words to that effect)
They’ve not stipulated alive. It reads to me they’ve acquiesced to looking for a body,

<modsnip: quoted post was removed>

I don't like to see people bashing the police. They have a difficult and largely thankless job. They cannot always take the public into their confidence without potentially jeopardising the chances of bringing offenders to justice.

Do you seriously believe that if LE felt there was an increased risk of harm to the public, or a specific group, they would not make anyone aware of that?

Stop being so self-rightous and use minimal deduction processes to evaluate why it may be.

By saying they have an "open mind", but that LS may have "come to some harm", the police have not eliminated a single scenario.

They are basically saying 1) She could have had an accident 2) She may have been abducted 3) We may have the right guy in custody 4) Oh wait, maybe we don't have the right guy in custody 5) hmmm, ok, and there may be a sexual predator/murderer cruising around the area.

It is literally their job to "protect, serve and REASSURE" the community" (ACPO Statement of Common Purpose and Values 1992)

A group of us contacted hull live earlier and they’ve been really helpful in relaying our concerns to the police

It would be very useful if you informed us what the response was from the police. Was there a reason you didn't contact the police directly instead of through Hulllive?

Exactly JTTH. The way they decide to do that though is bound to throw up contradictory actions.

So what exactly do you want them to do?

So what exactly do you want them to do?

Remember that PR was only arrested on suspicion of "abduction".

I want them to tell the public if they are still actively looking for a perpetrator.

Hull live have been amazing throughout the past 21 days so decided to go through them.

I would always recommend going direct to the top.

Probably not, JTTH.

There, you can relax. For now.

Re the cctv, I think the most interesting witness is the first person who was running in orange type top. Wondering why would he be cutting through that section by allotments in early hours of morning, especially running at start slowing to a walk as though had been running for a while and then looking over shoulder to see if anyone following....where was he coming from and was he cutting back through to houses down to Clough Road area? Shame it is so far away on cctv as orange is quite a stand out colour to wear, more like a work like colour, like a hi vis top. Wondering if there are any night shifts in the industrial estates around there that wear orange type tops...

I’m happy how we did it earlier. Thanks for your advice anyway.

We went out for drinks in Hull last weekend and today we drove right past the area Libby went missing.

After reading all about this case, it just doesn't feel right out there now. Especially when we went out for drinks it just felt unusual. I just cant understand how someone just goes missing.

Today I also noticed when driving home, a few houses have 360 (you can move on a joystick) cameras mounted on the chimneys. Not on Bev road but some of the side streets - I guess the police would of covered those.

I have to say I am not local to Hull (I am in Essex) and my goto source has been Hull live on all platforms they have and I cannot fault them. They have been absolutely brilliant how they have handled the whole situation, better than nationwide media by a mile.

There is no reason why they can't announce "we are not looking for anyone else at this time".

I don't know if the blokes on here realise that females are constantly looking over their shoulders anyway. I'm quite independent and headstrong, but I have actually (sensibly I think) changed my plans and lifestyle over the last few weeks because of this - so I'm not having to walk anywhere around this area alone at night.

Yes, there is always a risk, but it seems very intensified and very real whilst all this is going on.

So, this is the official media strategy guidelines for the Police

Can I ask (I will delete if not allowed) does anyone think they are investigating murder now or still a missing person?

I am still in the process of having to remove posts for rudeness and personalizing, but want all members to know ...

If you see a rude or personalizing post, use the Report feature to make WS staff aware of it. DO NOT RESPOND because you may face a loss of posting privileges for doing so and perpetuating that particular part of the discussion. Your responses just make it that much more difficult for Mods / Admin to clean up the thread ... and that makes us very, very cranky because you all should know better. If you read The Rules, it's in there, so best to brush up on those rules and post accordingly.

Thank you for your co-operation.
