I wonder whether reporting restrictions will be imposed on today’s proceedings to head off any complaints of an unfair trial?

Will anymore evidence like CCTV or anything be released to the public today?

Unless the police want someone to come forward who was in an area of interest in a particular time frame relating to Libby’s disappearance, then no.

I've since visited My Hull. It allowed me to see the location of the CCTV cameras around the area. It probably backs up what Humberside Police probably know, that he couldn't have left Hull that night and probably hasn't on the following nights that they monitored him. It doesn't rule out he could of used another vehicle though, but the likelihood is slim to me. Still I would of thought they would of took note of all his friends car details from his phone at the time.

Hmm... so Libby is still within the City of Hull contrary to my earlier thoughts or the River/Sea Theory.

How sophisticated is the level of technology that is available these days? Are there scanners that can pick up remains so many feet deep in the ground? Can boat searches be sent out to scan the surface of whats beneath them?

Very interesting on ‘My Hull’ showing where all the CCTV cameras are. Unfortunately not many in the areas where LS had been known to be before her disappearance.

@bos i’ve been wondering this too. I’ve noticed a decline in reporting, especially nationally since his last set of charges. I know we have wondered why much hasn’t been released and correct me if I’m wrong but they went from naming him initially to referring to him namelessly? Maybe they are throwing more caution to the wind now to make any possible trial as fair as can be after the past 5 weeks ? Or maybe MSM are loosing interest, especially nationally ? ...

I think today is just a plea

Isn'y today a plea and trial preparation hearing? I'm guessing not much will not happen. But it will be interesting to see how many charges are put to him today and what they are.

Is there a chance of additional charges being put to PR today too?

Not in court, he’d have had to be rearrested, his rights read to him and sent to magistrates first (unless that HAS happened and there was a news black out but doubtful)

I still can’t work out why if there are 12 charges in total why there are only 6 case numbers listed for court. I could understand if 5 were listed, namely the first 5 offences he was charged with and the most recent 7 were postponed to a later date.

The police are continuing to name him in connection with what he’s been charged with. They are saying “a man” or “a 24 year old male” remains under investigation for kidnap because he hasn’t been charged.

Everyone knows who they’re referring to but they technically can’t name him in the LS side of things.

I’m sure the police are extremely frustrated that the press named him (and even sent reporters to Poland) before he was officially named and charged. I imagine their press office has reminded the press of sub judice rules in quite strong terms, particularly as the need for leads from the public has diminished

I assume this is court allocation for the next six charges. The previous charges were already allocated a hearing date etc I presume.

This date today is the one that was set for his original charges.

So would he have another hearing for his later charges also?

It does go from very low water to high, its a tidal river afterall. Even at myton bridge it goes right down to mud at low tide with a shallowish channel running out to the humber. At high tide at myton bridge and and even to the stretch past oak road its quite deep.

I've lived in Hull all of my life but can never recall seeing it so low.

You are right about it being a small channel of water in the middle of the mudbanks. If LS entered the river by whatever means, it was quite a way from the Humber so with the river Hull being as low as it is at times I would have thought a body would be spotted "washed up on the banks" before it reached there.

Sorry I just realised this. If these are being held at the magistrates court or a court house with a magistrates within, its going to be court allocation, application for bail, charges read to him etc for those six charges. If there are a vast number of charges it may be administratively easier to split them up. It doesn’t mean the charges have been dropped. Yes he will have similar thing for further 6 charges

Thanks yes that makes sense.

Is it possible its the 5 original charges plus the boxing day one that seemed to somehow be swapped out the first time around? Thats my thinking at the moment.

I am surprised Hull Live have as yet made no mention of todays upcoming court appearance.

They have literally just posted now, court room so full that extra seats provided for reporters! He’s 7th in the proceedings.

Yeah i get what your saying but someone here did look up the tide times on that particular night and there was a high tide so if LS was in the river she would have been swept down stream pretty quickly its not a slow moving river at all on the ebb.

Thanks Vic & @astheworldfallsdown for the link. I had started wondering if it had been adjourned.

It sounds as though there are lots of press. I wonder if it will make national headlines again this week? It feels as though Libby’s story has dropped out of national press with no new news recently.

I’m hoping @Joelle88 has made it into the public gallery and can update us later.

I hope it does hit the nationals again this week, it definitely feels like Libby has been forgotten about as far as MSM goes (aside from locally).
Hope Joelle managed to get in, I do recall someone else here saying they may be able to go depending on timings but annoyingly I can’t remember who.
