This man who died in the fire in Wymondham. Name Pete Green, and the town crier.

Linda's brother is Tony Green. Any connection?

'A sterling character' - popular councillor and town crier died in fire

Well, that's very interesting, as I've just been rummaging around in Linda's family tree. I do not believe there's another sibling besides Linda and Tony. Pete Green's alternate surname of Travis (per the article you linked) may give some clues though. I will have a look.

We probably can't publicly sleuth these people, and likely no involvement anyway! Just caught my eye the same (albeit, fairly common) surname and also death by fire (though presumably not strangled).

What a very interesting person. I wish everyone we take an interest in would be thoughtful enough to put a copy of their DBS certificate online. Not a relation, I think, so no need to sleuth him imo. Crazy coincidence though!

Man rearrested in Linda Hood murder probe

A 58-year-old man was originally arrested on suspicion of murder and arson with intent to endanger life on June 17 but later released on police bail.

Police confirmed on Tuesday, June 29, that the same man had been rearrested in connection with Ms Hood's murder. He was taken to Wymondham Investigation Centre where he is being questioned.

A second man who was arrested on June 21 was later released under investigation and remains so.

Officers are conducting house-to-house enquiries, examinations of the scene, forensic enquiries and viewing CCTV footage in their bid to establish the circumstances of Ms Hood's death.

Detectives are continuing to appeal for anyone with information to come forward. They are particularly keen to speak with any taxi drivers who may have been working in or around the Magdalen Square or Cherwell Way area of Gorleston between 12pm on Thursday, June 10, and 9am on Friday, June 11.

You don't get arrested twice without there being something...

Now charged.

Police have charged a man with the murder of Linda Hood in Gorleston earlier this month.

Paul Kelly-Bridle, of Worcester Way, Gorleston, was today charged with murder and arson with intent to endanger life following an investigation by the Joint Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team.

Ms Hood, 68, was found dead inside her property on Friday 11 June.

Police were called just before 9.10am to help Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service following reports of a fire at the house in Cherwell Way.

Following enquiries and the results of a post mortem, detectives opened a murder investigation after establishing the cause of death was compression to the neck.

Kelly-Bridle has been remanded in custody and will appear at Norwich Magistrates Court for his first hearing tomorrow, Wednesday 30 June 2021.

But, IMHO: sex.

She was a 68 year old woman, with physical disabilities. I don't see it, unless he had some weird sexual perversions. I can see if he had run into money troubles and knew or was convinced that she had money stashed from her late husband.

Disabled 68yo women represent a weird sexual perversion now?

And anyway, maybe he did. He's also a murderer, allegedly.
