Well at least she can be laid to rest now and the family can start to get some closure. LE must have enough evidence from the post mortems to release her body . It’s so very sad and cruel....should never have happened.
Are those houses in a row at the bottom of the photo what I've heard people talk about the "estate" houses? Is that a type of government housing? I only know about "estate" housing from watching Coronation Street...LE still have the bottom right section (as highlighted on photo) of Accrington cemetery cordoned off and are also still maintaining a presence there. Haven’t seen or heard of any more searches being carried out locally.
I know. But Gemma and Paul are from an estate, yeah?Coronation street isn't a council (government) estate
What are you doing watching Corrie over there?!! Estate has a wide meaning but yes, I think mostly associated with council estate. So local authority affordable housing which the authority owns and rents out to people, usually v longterm. That kind of was in the 60's and 70's initially. Nowadays loads (most) new build housing is also referred to as in estates, purpose built residential areas pretty much. But generally privately owned, with maybe an allocation of affordable housing to keep targets happy. We can tell which are council and which aren't, because of the date of the build more or less. Are those houses in a row at the bottom of the photo what I've heard people talk about the "estate" houses? Dont tell me, are they a bit rough and ready to hit stereotype?! Coronation St housing is just a typical street. An estate is laid out, off main drags.I know. But Gemma and Paul are from an estate, yeah?
Yes, those two are a bit stereotypical I figured. But I didn't know what an estate referred to, at first I thought an orphanage.Dont tell me, are they a bit rough and ready to hit stereotype?! Coronation St housing is just a typical street. An estate is laid out, off main drags.
OK thanks for the explanation, that helps a lot. I watch Corrie because I am married to a Brit who is from Lancashire with family also in North Yorkshire. We spend quite a bit of time there throughout the year. All kidding aside, watching Corrie and Emmerdale, as over the top as they are, have helped me understand the language, accents, terminology etc quite a bit. It's amazing how different speaking the same language can be. As this case has pointed out quite a bit of differences in that and also in the law. What are you doing watching Corrie over there?!!
