12:27pm
Mr Fenhalls asked DS Bowler: "You did your best to get what you could from Peel Park Avenue but it didn't help you very much did it?"

DS Bowler said: "Yes I agree with that."

12:26pm
Mr Fenhalls is now asking about CCTV footage from private addresses on Peel Park Avenue, and whether CCTV footage was obtained from any of these homes.

DS Bowler says that enquiries made about CCTV on Peel Park Avenue didn't provide them with any useful evidence as many of the cameras on that road were not working or were only motion cameras which did not pick up pedestrian movement.

No CCTV of Lindsay Birbeck after Peel Park Avenue
Det Sgt Bowler has told the jury that there is no CCTV of Lindsay Birbeck on Burnley Road in Accrington beyond the junction with Peel Park Avenue.

The jury were told that officers ‘deduced’ she had therefore walked down Peel Park Avenue in the direction of the Coppice.

The officer said there was also no CCTV footage from a bus in the area showing Lindsay.

The jury heard it would have been difficult to say where all of those cars were heading, and certainly not all of them would be heading to The Coppice.

12:30pm
DS Bowler is confirming that between 4pm and 6pm on August 12, 80 to 100 vehicles were seen on CCTV from Peel Park Avenue.

I understand that family members need to be accommodated. But it seems like it's a Public Gallery where no members of the public can attend.
Really?
Wow I have never come across that in all of my years of giving evidence at court. Albeit it’s a different crown court, usually, in my experience, a maximum of half of the court seats are reserved for friends and family and half for the general public because of the fact that it is a public trial and of public importance and members of the public want to attend and for nothing else, it’s to show that a fair and equitable trial is being conducted and it’s in the public’s interest.

From Wiki

'Generally, Cases heard in chambers are cases, or parts of cases, in which the public and press are not allowed to observe the procedure'

Can they produce more evidence during the defence to counter his argument? Or does it all have to be done during prosecution? Because i will be very shocked by a guilty verdict based on this.

I saw that match.com wonder where they are going with that?
Probably trying to deflect away from RM by saying that she met up with someone on match .com that killed her and not RM

Defence are “supposed “ to give the prosecution an outline of what they are going to present and say during their part of the trial, however, this is only loosely adhered to and observed so who knows what witnesses that the defence may call or indeed what explanations and theories they may throw out into the courtroom....
