With help of my abacus, so far I make that:

Defendant 12
A Family Member or Close Known Associate: 4
Combination of The Defendant and Family Member or Close Known Associate: 1

I must say it's interesting to see it like this as from reading through the thread this past week or so I got the impression that more people were siding towards '2nd person involvement'.

Who do you think killed Lindsay (as in the actual murder, not including any possible cover-up help)?

(please add your username and repost)

The Defendant:

Looking at the facebook profile of Rocky Price, it's not the same person I'm sure.. this guy was posting while other one was locked up, this guy is a year younger too.. when lindsay went missing and the name was thrown about I found the rocky from accrington and to me doesn't seem to be the right person. Lots of details dont add up. The profile I looked on has gone but i think it wasn't even under the name rocky.

I don't know how to repost MusicalMonkey,, or, if I'm too late to vote, but, for me it's the defendant

We can't post anything which identifies the defendant. Especially not his name.

Morning everyone. I think after listening to all the evidence he's done it himself. I think maybe he has had some kind of fantasy or something that day and he's gone out to see what he can do. Maybe he's gone for his usual walk after having a bad morning and when he's gone up the coppice he's seen Zoe thought why not...he's gone for her but because she's turned around he's stopped. Then she's legged it. Next I think he might have walked abit further down and walked right into Lindsay...he might have been on his way home...maybe..then because Lindsay has come in front of him he's jumped on her. Straight in a headlock and he's done what ever he's done to her... taking her clothes off to me only means one thing...he's raped her...why else unless he's done it to get revenge because everyone would see her naked? I don't know?! He's then hid her. Gone home for his bag and stuff...on way back he's seen a blue bin which would have been emptied at some point. Thought that would help...got it and gone back to her body. Then he's decided to put her in the bin and leave her there until he finds a place for her. Then after walking around the cemetery he might have felt abit of guilt and thought I'll put her on one of the grave because that's where dead people go...no open graves so he's made his own...I think that's possibly why he put her in bags to..it's like a make shift coffin. I don't know...that's what's buzzing around my head at the moment anyway.

I definitely think after he's been put out there as being a suspect he's had no choice but to tell his family then they have all helped, especially mum and dad. They would have got rid of alot of stuff I bet...there was plenty of time for that to happen while he was in the police station.

Gypsies are forever burning stuff so that's probably what happened. Also just up the road in a waste disposal place..tip we call it. They could have taken stuff there. Phone and watch could have been binned. Or smashed up. Sold. Anything.

The story of a hooded stranger would have been drummed into his head I bet...tell them that but say no comment in interview. If his dad went in with him he wouldn't have let him say anything that could make him look guilty.

You're on fire this morning Doris! I'm in agreement with you, he did it. Alone. If he is freed, peeps are anticipating he's going to be back home in his caravan in no time. We don't want him back here. His home is only 2.6 miles from mine

Names are missing from this. I was wondering why the abacus malfunctioned, the calculations are a copy of an older post. :D
I think I'm correct that Doris777 has decided defendant but I'm not certain that's a certain because the name wasn't added to the list. And JosieJo has a qualifier added. Anyone missing or in the wrong place please shout.

Mate - there is a reporting restriction on names. Remove this

When it was first being investigated I thought it would turn out that the defendant had been brought in to help on behalf of one of primarily Lindsay's associates rather than one of his.
Now it is all muddied by the fact that it seems clear to me that he hasn't acted alone from start to finish, but it is very difficult to decide at what point(s) anybody else has been involved. Either way, based on what's been reported, it doesn't feel like beyond reasonable doubt IMO.

I agree, and I think we (even i) have been hung up on her death being very quick after she left the house. But this is based on a message received and not read. I'm sure if you're being sexually assaulted before murdered you're still not going to be reading or replying to WhatsApps. There is every possibility he sexually assaulted her before killing her.

Ok so I’ve been thinking and would like your opinion on the following........do you think the perpetrator attacked LB suffocating her and what ever happened thereafter and the horrific injuries made to her neck and throat were after death to perhaps make it easier for her to fit in the wheelie bin? I know it’s a bit extreme but not a lot of any of this makes much sense !

I had thought maybe it was partly defensive. He's gone full on aggressive because she's tried to escape. But obviously there's no real proof of defensive wounds given the state of her body so I think post death trauma is probably very likely as a probable cause.

I recall that the pathologist, when giving evidence, said LB's neck injuries were most likely caused perimortem, owing to the significant decomposition of the neck region.

The pathologist said, that in her experience the sites of injury caused before death decompose more quickly.
