I recall that the pathologist, when giving evidence, said LB's neck injuries were most likely caused perimortem, owing to the significant decomposition of the neck region.

The pathologist said, that in her experience the sites of injury caused before death decompose more quickly.
I went walking there the other day. Should I say in the area. Is this one of the pics uploaded by FB user recently?

Isn't 'Defendant and Family Member or Close Known Associate' still a guilty vote? Giving 9-3 and one more needed for a majority verdict.

Maybe @Ann Blyth can clarify.
No LB because I didn’t properly read it, I meant close relative murdered and defendant left to clear up! I’m being an idiot, this case is driving me up the wall.....

I think you have nailed it there Doris.
The Coppice and Hameldon Hill are well established walking, jogging and fell running routes without a reputation for places to avoid.
Yes back in the day we had the Hamledon flasher but he is long gone. The Kings Highway was closed off when it became a notorious dogging site years ago.
By and large and being used by so many people it is seen as a safe area, although I now make doubly sure my wife takes her panic alarm if she goes out walking.
Poor Lindsay seems to have been tragically unlucky.

Click edit on the specific post and just delete the name, you can replace with the defendant or similar. Hope that helps

I've never seen this pic, or never paid it much attention, but is this close where the jacket was seen? For some reason I was expecting the fence to be much taller.

It matches up with the dormer windows and trees marked on google maps (and other matches).

A while back I was trying to pinpoint the exact location of the jacket - as the timing (witness said 4.20pm on August 12th didn't they?) would almost certainly nail down the route that Lindsay took. I'm still baffled somewhat by this.

Some have suggested that it was perhaps not Lindsay's jacket, or not even a jacket at all.

But bearing in mind the sighting forms a big part of the witness evidence then if it was something innocent - somebody else's jacket, or just a bit of 'material' - Then why did whoever removed the 'evidence' not come forward to eliminate themselves (it) from the enquiry as any innocent and normal person would?

*You would know if that person was you. You would remember.

* Disclaimer - I am of course presuming that 'spontaneous goldfish memory syndrome' as that potentially suffered by the defendant isn't a common thing around Accrington. :p

You're on fire this morning Doris! I'm in agreement with you, he did it. Alone. If he is freed, peeps are anticipating he's going to be back home in his caravan in no time. We don't want him back here. His home is only 2.6 miles from mine

Lol it all just come to me this morning. I've been reading back alot on what's been put on Facebook..so kinda go a better picture of it all. Pictures I've seen ect. It's kinda of an obvious way if u get me. She will know short cuts from her house. So will he. Anyone from around the area will know which way is easier to go. No one will walk the long way around if they don't need to. If it's not been him that's done it then there must be someone else and his story is true which I dowt very much.. there's just to many unanswered questions. To much mystery and to much evidence against RP. If there wasn't so much linking him to it I'd probably be really undecided but from what's been said I'd say it's him. I really do wish there was phone evidence tho so we new for definite what was going on. There's so many trackers on your phone these days u know where people are all the time. Also anyone who was in the coppice that day should check there phones if they took any pictures to see if anyone was around who looked like our killer.

I do hope tho he's made to say something in court about what happened.

Oh and u know what I'd do if I was the police...I'd take him back to the scene of the crime...I'd make him tell them where she was moved from..and what he did.that way they could have got some more evidence.

Sorry I'm rambling again. This thing has seriously messed with my head!

Just to clarify I think the defendant and a family member have been involved but to what proportion they where involved in the murder part, I couldn’t say, it’s just a hunch.

BUT on the evidence presented so far in court i would find not guilty of a murder charge, in fact i am not even sure the prosecution has a case at all, its all inference from the disposal of the body, and one witness who saw someone at the coppice who was similarly dressed to the defendant, acting suspiciously.

The other witnesses where more helpful to the defence.

There just isn’t enough to convict this lad based on our knowledge of his background, local rumours, or his acknowledged disposal of the body.

If the jury have to make a decision and they convict, I am convinced it would be rescinded on appeal.

I feel sure the prosecution will press for a lesser charge.

When it was first being investigated I thought it would turn out that the defendant had been brought in to help on behalf of one of primarily Lindsay's associates rather than one of his.

Interesting angle, and one I wouldn’t have thought of, it did cross my mind that this would be an online date gone wrong.

Quick update on Jury split, based on latest vote totals

Defendant 19 votes = 8.44 jurors - rounded = 8
Defendant and KA 2 votes = 0.89 jurors - rounded = 1

Known Associate 6 votes = 2.67 jurors - rounded = 3

So guilty verdict 9 Jurors - only need to persuade 1 for a majority guilty verdict

Isn’t this a vote of what people think, not necessarily how they would vote on a jury? I know it is in my case.

Yes you are absolutely right. Perhaps a second poll would be useful, to say whether or not people would actually vote guilty or not guilty - based on the evidence we have heard.
