Now it has emerged the popular 22-year-old may have been involved in an incident in the High Street with claims on social media that he was seen running away from a gang of males.

Were still searching for missing 22-year-old Luke Jobson who was last seen near to Yarm School at around 2:15am on Saturday 26th January.

Detectives are appealing for taxi drivers and other drivers in the area between 2am and 3am on 26th to check any Dashcam footage and those who live in Yarm to check private CCTV.


The police helicopter is up and specialist search advisors are in the area.

Thanks @HayLouise. I've found the tweet you refer to and will paraphrase. Luke was seen being chased by some lads who jumped into a car and tried to run him over. He managed to jump over the wall into the school grounds and his friends got in there to look for him, security are checking CCTV.

It looks like the river runs behind the school grounds. Does anyone know if he could have got over the back wall?

The police have asked that this mornings public search does NOT go ahead.

Given that the aforementioned tweet gives an exact location where Luke jumped the wall (by a white plastic bag hanging in the trees) you'd hope they'd have scent dogs down there asap.

Please consider this next bit rumour. A couple of names are doing the rounds, E&J. Apparently these people have handed themselves in to police. Someone has posted anonymously that Luke got beaten up and left in a bush by the river.

Got a bad feeling about this.

Luke Jobson: Mother says "someone knows something and I want them scared"

The police helicopter and mountain rescue teams have been out searching for Luke, who was last seen in Yarm in the early hours of Saturday morning.

His mother, Kelly told reporters gathered in Yarm on Monday morning: "Someone knows something and I want them scared."

She added: "I want people not to be scared to put pressure on."

"If anyone can look in wheelie bins, industrial bins, clothes banks, everywhere, under bushes, in trees - anything, any area. If you can put your mind to where you might hide or (might) have been taken. Any horrible, disgusting area needs checking.

"(Luke) is not a fighter, he is a very, very calm lad. If anyone has got him or knows where he is, don't be scared now because it doesn't matter as long as he can come back. Don't be scared to bring him or drop him off somewhere."
