Southport stabbings suspect to appear in court today
Good morning from Liverpool Crown Court.
We’re just waiting to be admitted to courtroom 41 at the moment, with the case listed to begin from 10.30am.
It is expected that there will be a large media presence today, with the adjacent courtroom 42 being used as an overflow court where proceedings will be screened via video link.
Rudakubana, represented by Stan Reiz KC, has so far made four court appearances before
Liverpool Magistrates' Court, Liverpool Crown Court and Westminster Magistrates' Court. He has not spoken to confirm his identity during any of these hearings and has sat with his prison-issue jumper pulled over the bottom of his face.
His case is listed to take place before Mr Justice Goose from 10.30am, with the defendant due to appear again via video link from HMP Belmarsh. The ECHO's crown court reporter Adam Everett will be providing live coverage from courtroom 41 assisted by crime reporter Paddy Edrich from the office.

Delays due to technical issues in court
We understand that there are technical issues in court and the hearing will now not begin until around 11am.
There are around two dozen members of the press who have so far gathered in order to gain entry to the two courtrooms.
