GUILTY UK - Maria Rawlings, 45, murdered, Romford, Essex, 3 May 2021 *arrest*

Each facebook page seems devoted to different side of him: dulce-sweet seducer (in his mind), bombardiero - paramiliary obsession.

I suppose the facebook pages give a useful insight into his personality, which is probably helpful in identifying the sort of person who commits crimes like this early on. I'm a big fan of early intervention and prevention.

All his photos, both of him and of gore-fantasy, you really can sense the neurosis/psychosis in him. He wouldn’t have got that way for no reason; there’s always a genesis to this kind of disorder. For someone so young who displays these traits so strongly, and acts how he has, he likely had an extremely messed up childhood. Possibly witnessed things like what he’s now doing, etc.

Particularly discomfiting to see him post regular stuff AFTER killing Maria. Strong narcissism and strong traits of sociopathy, IMO.

Agree - even with the video on the bus he seemed very disassociated - his clam demeanour given what he had just done is chilling. MOO

2 more profiles

Lazar Vali

Vali Lazar

not much on these though, and nothing horrid

Also seems strange he created a new facebook profile on the 7th May. Who needs so many facebook profiles and why create more ways of yourself being identified after you have committed a murder? JMO

Funny how he’s wearing a face mask in his selfie of 7 May but not on a bus the night of the attack.

The other big contributor to this kind of psychosis in my professional experience is early and sustained cannabinoid abuse.

FFS what happened to this young man to end up (possibly) being guilty of murder? So so sad

I was just thinking this. He is basically a child. Of course that doesn't excuse his actions - he has been charged with taking the life of an innocent woman and has given her family unimaginable trauma and grief to deal with for life. But you have to wonder why/how young people like this slip through the net and what they were exposed to throughout their early life. Just incredibly sad all round. MOO

Face masks interfere with your peripheral vision, I wonder if he wasn't wearing one because he was 'trying to keep all his wits about him' and if that was the case I wonder if that extended into the whole evening?

Just had a look through the facebook profiles - a woman comments on one of the photos with "mum loves you" - it seems he has a brother but with a different surname - his mum also has the surname of his brother but multiple friends with VL's surname. The worrying thing is that it seems his mum (if it is her) is friends with at least three of his profiles on facebook. If my mum saw my brother post images like the ones on VL's FB she would be completely beside herself with concern and would take him to a psychiatrist JMO

Yes, great point; absolutely, face masks do affect your peripheral vision, (annoyingly so when trying to control toddlers and pay the shop cashier!) and he has clearly enjoyed creating numerous SM accounts so one does have to wonder if this man wanted to be seen, in one way or another. Poor Maria. Just on her way home/to a friends after a visit to hospital then grabbed out of the blue by this apparently highly dysfunctional youth. Probably not much younger than her own children. Tragic. Moo.

Absolutely! Im sad because I see a man barely out of his teens clearly desintegrating, living in virtual reality, sinking in psychosis. It is often in adolescence when schizofrenia manifests itself. I once read that nearly 40% of population suffer from various kinds of mental problems: from fobias, compulsions, depression, etc to really severe illnesses. But do they seek help? Rarely sadly. Untreated mental issues lead to tragedies. Maria would be alive if somebody close to this man cared enough about him to help and intervene in time.

A lot of assumptions being made there. Could be that this guy had a loving family and was just something of a bad seed, it does happen and things aren't always someone else's fault. I am sad for the victim and her loved ones but that's as far as my sympathy goes.

Of course - the deepest sorrow and sympathy goes to Maria and her grieving family. I hope they will see justice although nothing will alleviate their grief and pain. But I dont believe in 'bad apples' as you put it. It is not that simple - there is a saying 'A child is a father of an adult". Meaning what you get/dont get as a child from your family in emotional sense creates you as a grown up.

Interesting debate though this is, and we should be able to keep it a friendly debate. I used to agree with you on this, but now I think there are people who are just nasty, however people can have psychopath traits but not kill anyone, but problems in childhood can push someone with those sort of traits into becoming a risk to other people. That is my completely amateur view.

Atmosphere at family home is everything.

I don't disagree. I just think it's not always the case and however dire the circumstances of any particular individual, there are likely thousands of others who have suffered worse and have not developed into sexually motivated murderers.
